Newpotatoes2018 wrote: »Hi Marc,
I received a notification from M Lewis energy club. It stated I could save money by switching.
Currently my supplier is Out Fox The Market Zapp tariff. I use about £850.00 to £900.00 energy per annum.
Pure planet showed I would save £150.00 per annum which I thought was amazing! So I hit the button to change.
Then when I scrolled further down afterwards, Pure Planet showed again with a saving of only £45.00.
Hence when your email came to start my change I did nothing about it.
Then I had a phone call from yourselves and I said I had changed my mind.
The chap said he would cancel me off and this should show on energy club. It still does not, still shows me as in the process of a switch.
If I do save money I will change, however how much I will save is what I really would like to know first. Also how to contact yourselves or someone to contact me as if the switch goes ahead I would want to do it through M Lewis site to get the Cashback.
Do hope you can please help me.
I am a not a spring chicken by any means, however I should manage the App. Is it free?
Hi Newpotatoes
If you didn't confirm your switch in the Pure Planet app then you haven't switched.
Here's a bit more info from an FAQ on how to switch from price comparison sites.
The estimated electricity usage (known as Estimated Annual Consumption, or EAC) and the estimated gas usage (known as Annual Quantity, or AQ) comes from historical energy usage held on a centralised industry database - from previous suppliers, and from previous usage.
Also, when a person switches to a new supplier they are asked to provide their own estimated energy use. This information, and the central database information, helps us to predict their annual estimate.
Once a member is on supply and sends us regular meter readings we can see their actual energy usage.
Every time a members sends us a reading we can better predict the current and future usage because the EAC and the AQ is updated - and this means a more accurate forecast.
This is why we ask for regular monthly meter readings.
Is your MSE dashboard stil showing you as switching? We exchange data with MSE regularly so they can track who has switched.
Yes, our app is free! :j
Hope this helps you out

Painful experience with Pure Planet throughout the time I've been with them. I liked the principle of their service offering, it's just that they offer no service that has turned me off.
Their app consistently fails, needs multiple reinstallation to try and work and worst of all, their customer service is so remote as to be non-existent.
Really not worth the bother when there's multiple other ethically and technology driven suppliers out there.
I'm off back to the comparison site to start a new switch.0 -

Hi Boca
Sorry to hear that you didn't have a good experience with us.
We did have an app issue over the weekend which affected some of our Members. And though it wasn't an issue for many, we do appreciate that it was an inconvenience for you, and for a few others who were also affected.
Thanks for trying us out. Please don't give up on renewables!

Can you please cancel my switch, I have been unable to load your app on either my iphone 5 or samsung j3.
My application was never completed.
It is still showing on my Cheap Energy Club Account as active. Thank you Phil Butcher0 -

You need to email the Cheap Energy Club at the address below as posting on this forum will not change anything. Indeed they may ignore the email too.
There are other switch providers available like the Citizens Advice Bureau https://energycompare.citizensadvice.org.uk/CONTACTS

Company not E7 compliant therefore not everyone's cup of tea.
Prospective customers also need to be aware their tariff is variable and Ofgem has hinted that another price rise is in the offing.0 -

Hi fairleads
We can supply members with Economy 7 meters. We don't have a separate tariff; it's one tariff for all members, with energy at the wholesale rate. So Economy 7 members will pay one rate, around the clock.
Ours is a variable tariff. It's a zero markup rate based on wholesale energy costs. We'll give you at least 14 days notice if it goes up. If it goes down we'll pass the saving on immediately.
Hope that helps!

I don't know if there's a separate thread for issues with the MSE Cheap Energy Club tool, but I noticed that my tariff with Pure Planet did not reflect the 15 Jan price rise. So the tool was reporting I was on a deal much cheaper than any of the competitors (the Green Network Energy MSE exclusive deal, for example, was coming out at £225/yr more expensive than my current tariff).
Going into the edit details screen, I can see two tariffs "100% Green." (with full stop) seems to be the pre-15 Jan prices, whereas "100% Green" (without full stop) reflects the current prices - including the reduction in the standing charge that was effective from yesterday.
Once I'd updated the details, the tool shows a couple of cheaper deals - People's Energy and Orbit Energy - but the saving is not huge (£42/yr) and so far I'm happy with Pure Planet, so I won't be switching right now.0
