  • Haha exactly they got address, why do they need mobile number cause if there is any issue they know my address ... logic... mobile phone unnecessary then isnt ..
  • No on the contrary im not annoyed im stating my opinion you are the one who seems very annoyed by the lengthly response
  • If you're not happy to give out your everyday mobile phone number, get of the free sim cards available from phone operators, stick a couple of £s credit on it then use this whenever you want to call the taxi company.

I love someone is simple enough to believe they are legally obliged to provide a phone number to a taxi firm.

What about those of us who don't have a mobile phone? (I hate the bloody things).
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

If I phone from my home phone then I get an automated call when the taxi arrives. If I call from my mobile I get a text with a description of the taxi and its registration number. They don't even ask for my number.

Well i disagree to travel 2 minutes and charge £4 is ridiculous

How much do you earn? I'm assuming it is at least £7.50 an hour? It takes them 5 minutes to get to you, a minute or so waiting for you to come out to the vehicle, 5 minutes to do your journey and a minute whilst you pay them and get out and 5 minutes to return to base. So that's 17 minutes, lets call it 20 so a third of an hour. At NMW that is £2.50 plus 12.7% holiday pay so £2.81 for the for the cost of the driver. Then there is fuel and static costs such as road tax and insurance (which is high) to cover as well. £4 is not ridiculous. If you think £4 is ridiculous for a "2 minute journey" then maybe you should walk.

The OP is hiding their number, so the taxi firm is suspicious due to people messing around.
The OP is being unreasonable in their behaviour and in their responses to people on here.

Most people understand why taxi firms need a contact number.
  • Yes it is in work you could not give out another colleague number cause its confidential information
