Taxis wanting contact numbers ??

I think that having a car and driver come out and pick you up, and then drop you off at your destination is a great service for the price they charge.
It's not particularly "cheap", but motoring isn't cheap before wages are paid.

Therefore it wouldnt be criminal it would be a civil matter.. i have never heard a taxis firm take someobe to court for not turning up.. bit extreme and costly for them.. if it was prolific and traced the number i would understand

Haha yes of course i asked and said to see if it was genuine but having an address is ample and to use it to say the taxis cant turn up is a bit extreme and has never happened to me.. iv know people to book a taxis and they have never turned up at all and when rung the phone is put straight down...

To conclude from a few helpful comments and lots of sarcastic comments calling me dim, saying this and that which is not helpful or productive .. the conclusion is that if i refuse to give my number and they have my address, taxis can refuse therefore it is them who are losing out of fare

To answer the numerous questions i think giving mobile number when they have ur address doesnt mean the person is guaranteed to turn up anyway
