A friend at work gave me this tip, she uses her leftover sun cream from the summer as body lotion during the winter, as the sun protection part doesn't last that long and its best to buy fresh each year.0

On the subject of showers. In 1976 during the long drought I remember someone on TV showing how you could have an all over wash with bucket of water and a sponge. As I remember, it involved standing in a washing-up bowl, wetting youself all over, soaping and rinsing off with the sponge. Then taking the soapy water and watering your veg.
Never mind showers, who else has ironed wrapping paper to re-use. Yes, I'm very sad.
If you have to carry something liquid - cup of tea, pint of beer - without spilling it, keep your eyes on the liquid while you're walking and hum the wedding march to yourself. Works every time.I believe that friends are quiet angels

I remember John Noakes demonstrating how a shower used less water than a bath. I've had washes using just a bucket and sponge when I lived in Africa. I wouldn't do it in Britain in winter though - well not in this house anyway!Never mind showers, who else has ironed wrapping paper to re-use. Yes, I'm very sad.
When we were children we had to unwrap presents very very carefully, and the paper would be folded up to be re-used again. Sometimes Christmas paper would be used for three or four years :rotfl:I don't do it though. In the grand scheme of things wrapping paper is pretty cheap these days.If you have to carry something liquid - cup of tea, pint of beer - without spilling it, keep your eyes on the liquid while you're walking and hum the wedding march to yourself. One of my major faults - and it's been with me all my life - is that when I make a cup of tea or coffee I MUST have a full mug, which means that it's only prevented from spilling over the edge by water tension on the surface :rotfl:. I'll try your method in future0 -
Hi all
Not long moved into a new house with my boyfriend. Its our first time out on our own and paying own bills etc so we were wondering what everyones favourite ways of saving money were. So far we are doing fine but it would be nice to have a little extra at the end of the month to save towards getting things for the house or holidays.
Look forward to reading everyones tips0 -

To make garlic puree boil several heads of garlic until soft, put them in a sieve and squeeze through with the back of a spoon, freeze what is not used in ice-cube trays.0
