I store soap in my clothes drawers - makes everything smell nice (you just have to try and remember where they are when you need a new one!)

Also, if you use moisturiser that comes in a pump dispenser, don't chuck it away when it seems to be empty - unscrew the top and you'll be able to get another couple of weeks' worth out using either the dispenser tube itself or a teaspoon handle.

Similarly, if you use make up or moisturiser in a squeezy tube, when it seems to be empty, cut the tube open at the top and you'll see how much is left - I then fold over the cut edge and secure with a clothes peg to keep the contents clean.

There are some great tips here so I've added them to our main tips thread to keep the ideas together.

I use a plain A4 pad (spiral bound) as a mouse mat. That means whenever I need to write anything down - good ideas, phone numbers, book titles etc - that I come across, it is there ready and waiting. Just turn over when it is full.

    6. I used to buy expensive kitchen and bathroom wipes for cleaning. It's much cheaper to use a bit of kiitchen roll with a bit of Stardrops on to do the same job. A washable cloth would be even cheaper (but for the loo I prefer to use something disposable... not very OS, but giving in to OCD!)

I have various coloured microfibre cloths, which are washable at 40c,relatively cheap to buy and sturdy.I have one for the toilet, one for the bath and sink, one for the kitchen surfaces etc. They all go in the wash once a week.

If you store soap, remember to take of any plastic covering, otherwise it won't dry out (and therefore last longer). If they're in paper, you can leave it.

It's maybe already been mentioned, but I save old toothbrushes to scrub around the taps of the sink and even done the plughole. It's often a difficult area to clean otherwise.

Store bars of soap in airing cupboard, they last much longer when dried out.
Mix own antibacterial spray from zoflora, water and a bit of wul, in a spray bottle. Get lots of bottles lots cheaper than a dettol spray.
Am going to try the wd40... Do you think it would remove a pink ice lolly stain from a tshirt?

If you've tried everything else then I guess it's worth a try.
    Haven't tried it myself though!

Save on your freezer wear and tear, and prevent it getting frosted up....instead of rummaging around in the drawer with the door open, take the whole drawer out and place on the table or worktop and close freezer door quickly.

You can then root around to your hearts content and replace drawer in a couple of minutes, when you have found what youre looking for. The warm air in the kitchen doesn't get into the freezer by doing this. I don't have a frost free freezer, and this has really cut down the defrosting needed.

Another one.. Freeze milk in those ice cube bags using a funnel. You know the cube bags where you pop the cubes out.

Perfect for a cuppa when you have run out. Just pop out as many as you need and return the bag to the freezer for next time!

I wouldn't have thought it would stay stuck down. If you clean the tops of the cupboards with liquid soda crystals all that yuck comes off really easily. I don't have that problem as I don't have any kitchen cupboards on the walls unfortunately and we really could do with some.

You could stick drawer lining paper or newspaper on top I suppose, that might work.
