I have no idea of the whys but given the recent pensionbee it is clear that maybe they do not want unpaid assistance.
I can assure you we're just as surprised as you are. Although we don't always have the same opinion, we respect and like him for his contributions to this forum!

On behalf of PensionBee“Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of PensionBee. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -
Whilst I may not like some of the contributions of the likes of PensionBee (as in official company representative) I very much doubt that they would be foolish enough to risk that representation by complaining about a respected poster as it would probably land up backfiring.0

These forums thrive on knowledgeable people (often real experts) imparting their wisdom on the needy, less knowledgeable.
Being a member of the latter group is why I keep coming back.
Dilute or gag the expertise and stop the lively discussion and disagreements and I'll go elsewhere.
In this case I'm not convinced that it was the threat of legal action from the company, just continual complaints from a single poster with a perverse view.
Where there have been legal threats these are normally notified to individual posters by way of PM, and that poster asked if they want to retain their post, in which case the board reserves the right to supply that members details to the aggrieved party.
In most cases the forum just caves in and deletes posts or sometimes threads, but I don't believe a PPR is normal.0 -
Still no word.... how long does a review take?
A cynic may suggest that publishing the result of the review may be conveniently timed. For example, a 'convenient time' could be after the various threads on the issue stop appearing at the top of forum boards - assuming that happens.
The longer the delay the more disquiet I feel. As a relative newcomer to this site I thought I had discovered a jewel amongst all of the dross out there. Right now I am feeling a bit bewildered. Everything I have read so far suggests there was some kind of commercial motive - cost-cutting, a disgruntled product provider, whatever. That may not be so but it will remain the default explanation in the absence of any other from MSE.
I hope that a rational, reasonable justification is forthcoming soon. Or that MSE practices what it preaches and acts ethically: admits a mistake, issues a public apology to dh. That would go some way to restoring my confidence.
This is an opportunity for all of those that have benefitted so much from the experts' contribution to these forums to show our appreciation by doing more than clicking a 'thank you' button. I hope that we collectively don't allow dh to disappear without protest or explanation. The experts deserve our support.0 -

A temporary ban may be normal if some posters have disagreed with the decision a lot. A permanent ban is not normal though so there's probably something else going on.0 -
I've had a lot of help from DunstonH over the years and always value his opinions.
MSE are earning money off the back of him and others who contribute to the website by getting visitors to the website, so I cannot understand why they have no respect at all for him.
If it was me I would be very reluctant to come back to MSE if I was DunstonH given the way he appears to have been treated!0 -
Before anyone suggests that I am paranoid - yes I am
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you!0 -

Surely not a fair process if that's the case. Internet forums attract all sorts and a single person complaining surely needs a fair investigation before any action is taken.Mr Straw described whiplash as "not so much an injury, more a profitable invention of the human imagination—undiagnosable except by third-rate doctors in the pay of the claims management companies or personal injury lawyers"0 -
Dunstonh's departure has been a great loss to the Boards - so many have benefitted from his advice and miss his presence. He spent a great deal of his time helping others and must 'miss' being able to continue to do so. I think the way he's been treated is quite shameful. Let's hope he will be back soon0
