The fawning for dunstonh is way beyond cult adulation of a guru, especially when there are dozens of posters who repeat, and provide, the same guidance as did dunstonh.

This is a commercial site, no surprise at what MSE ptb do.
What is shocking, is the herd mentality of many here, dressing up in sackcloth and ashes, and saying the sky is falling down. Grow up..._

"He's not the Messiah. He's a very naughty boy!"

Thanks dunstonh for all your help. Gurus may apparently be ten a penny, but reasoned advice based on knowledge and experience is still welcomed in a world of unfounded opinion.

None of us are vital to others here, you will all survive without this or that poster.

Dear MSE/Martin I wonder if you value what your contributors contribute adequately. Where would you be without them? Just a thought. Unmonetised
MSE Martin sold this site a few years back. Someone did post about Dunston on Martin Lewis's Twitter feed, but he'll have very limited influence these days and certainly cannot reinstate Dunston himself...

The point is that dunstonh is a Real Financial Adviser giving FREE advice to many. There is dozens of posters on many forums who repeat and provide very poor guidance. Some people take pleasure in posting fake guidance while hiding behind the keyboard. With someone like dunstonh you know the advice is genuine.

That reminds me: I need to light the candle on my shrine to dunstanh. :shhh:

Why do you think you need to publish a disclaimer regarding your (amateur) status? Just curious.

The quality of advice of dunstonh was way beyond a cult of talking about gold almost all the time.

Thanks moneyinept. I didn’t know that but it sort of proves the monetisation of generosity point. I do love a good irony. And that post/intervention about dunston worship looks a bit of a diversion tactic but I may be wrong...

    Hmmm.
Quite curious that that poster chose to highlight dunstonh's name - not once but twice.
Maybe in case we were unsure of which guru we were talking about.....

    Sad loss to the site.

No!!! What is shocking is that you feel the necessity to mock those of us who genuinely respected dunstonh and valued him as a member of this site! You are entitled to your opinion, but life has taught me that sometimes one's opinion is better kept to oneself! A lesson to be learned maybe!
