I thought there were 3 threads regarding this.
I saw a post that said the thread had been 'pruned' - maybe an hour or so ago - but the thread seems to have disappeared altogether now.0 -
They have just moved one to Site Feedback.0

The fawning for dunstonh is way beyond cult adulation of a guru, especially when there are dozens of posters who repeat, and provide, the same guidance as did dunstonh.
None of us are vital to others here, you will all survive without this or that poster.
This is a commercial site, no surprise at what MSE ptb do.
What is shocking, is the herd mentality of many here, dressing up in sackcloth and ashes, and saying the sky is falling down. Grow up..._
There is no cult here, just appreciation. Too bad you cant tell the difference.0 -
There is dozens of posters on many forums who repeat and provide very poor guidance.
Including Digger telling new investors to fill their boots with precious metal0 -
The point is that dunstonh is a Real Financial Adviser giving FREE advice to many. There is dozens of posters on many forums who repeat and provide very poor guidance. Some people take pleasure in posting fake guidance while hiding behind the keyboard. With someone like dunstonh you know the advice is genuine.0

The rules about various professions posting here, including some customer service representatives, are to do with not promoting a business or touting for work.
Thus if someone would say send me a PM and we'll fix an appointment, that would be out of order.
If instead they said the further issues you need to consider are these, and you could ask your [already existing, as mentioned in a thread] financial adviser to clarify this point, then that should be within reason.0 -

He was not giving regulated advice, he was very clear in the boundaries between general explanations and recommending products or investment strategies. I also know for a fact that if he was contacted privately by people asking for his private details in order to get tailored advice from him, he would politely refuse.
I've learned more from dunstonh than any other contributor on MSE. He has a rare ability to explain the most complex things in understandable terms.0 -

I may be wring but I believe the thread in the link was started on the Site feedback board.
I'm pretty sure that there was 3 threads on 3 different boards but I can't find the 3rd one.0 -
I'm pretty sure that there was 3 threads on 3 different boards but I can't find the 3rd one.
1. This thread.
2. "Clearly there is no moderation here" thread: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5737523
3. "London Capital and Finance" thread: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5346049
4. And the one that was started on the Site Feedback section: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5737356
They are the only ones I am aware of.
Edit: I also want to say that this place was enriched by dunstonh's presence, and his absense will both leave a chilling effect on us all, and also diminish the variety and usefulness of this forum.
Edit 2: The one that was moved from Savings & Investments board to the Site Feeback was #2 above, the "Clearly there is no moderation here" thread.
