Edit: I also want to say that this place was enriched by dunstonh's presence, and his absense will both leave a chilling effect on us all, and also diminish the variety and usefulness of this forum. :(

Hopefully the decision will be reversed and he will return although the damage may already be done in that he won't be quite as willing to be here. This thread and the others may help to show him how much he was appreciated.

Digger and his gold we can happily do without though. :p

Now there's a man with an axe to grind.

Surely he's only got a shovel, can't dig up much gold with an axe.

The point is that dunstonh is a Real Financial Adviser giving FREE advice to many. There is dozens of posters on many forums who repeat and provide very poor guidance. Some people take pleasure in posting fake guidance while hiding behind the keyboard. With someone like dunstonh you know the advice is genuine.

The 'a' word I was thinking of I reserve for MSE.

But yes, we do but suggest and recommend consideration of, we never, ever, ever give financial advice. Not least because almost none of us is qualified to do so. And if one of us is qualified he gets hurled out. Bah!

    That'll annoy him.

Never realised how low the site feedback board is on this forum. Almost like, it's not meant to be spotted immediately.

The fawning for dunstonh is way beyond cult adulation of a guru, especially when there are dozens of posters who repeat, and provide, the same guidance as did dunstonh.

None of us are vital to others here, you will all survive without this or that poster.

This is a commercial site, no surprise at what MSE ptb do.
What is shocking, is the herd mentality of many here, dressing up in sackcloth and ashes, and saying the sky is falling down. Grow up..._
Wow been keeping a lot of repressed anger inside there Diggs.

Perhaps it's time to spend some of those Sov's to get some help.

When I was made redundant, she provided advice on a very specific part of the process and law which nobody else on the redundancy forum was able to do.

That forum has never been the same since she left.
I can agree with your end comment there totally.

I recently had to dip in to the forum and there were one or two that were helpful but the middle was just ridiculous & out of hand. People taking a situation & making things up basically. Saying i was ignoring them, saying i had been given specific instructions by a medical professional when in actual fact i had not and never said that i had. I would be accused of ignoring their advice. When i would question them why they were making these things up .... they would ignore it.

It's not just myself either. I've browsed threads from other people & see how the vultures turn on the OP with unnecessary attitude. What ever happened to playing nice? I adopt the stance of be with people how they are with you. If you think i'm being ok then that says you're being nice also, but if you think i'm being difficult, confrontational, unnecessary etc then you should really take a look at yourself as i don't particularly like being like that but i wont be addressed like that either. I tried the treat others how you'd like to be treated & it didn't work out too well. Doormat became the word.

I found where SareL went & she became a help to me once again but i've since forgotten where it was & tbh it's been a few years so she may not be there any more anyway.
