Goodbye to dunstonh

"For justice to be done, it needs to be seen to be done"
Since the success of this forum is based upon the willingness of private individuals to contribute their expertise and time for the benefit of others, it worries me that an individual who has a long track record of doing just that can be arbitarily cast aside.0 -
I have no idea of the whys but given the recent pensionbee it is clear that maybe they do not want unpaid assistance.0

Why can't DunstonH just create a new account?0

He could but why would he want to having been treated this way? Creating a new account loses all the reputation he has built up over the last 13 years.0 -

No. We want PensionBee to be the best solution for combining your old pensions into one online plan, so we do not offer new pensions for customers who do not combine their pensions with PensionBee.

If this comment gets me PPR'd as well, then farewell and it's been nice knowing you !0 -
Only takes one threat of legal action against MSE, perhaps including a demand to ban an individual and no matter how dodgy that aggrieved complainant might be I am sure MSE will take the easy route.
These forums thrive on knowledgeable people (often real experts) imparting their wisdom on the needy, less knowledgeable.
Being a member of the latter group is why I keep coming back.
Dilute or gag the expertise and stop the lively discussion and disagreements and I'll go elsewhere.Mr Straw described whiplash as "not so much an injury, more a profitable invention of the human imagination—undiagnosable except by third-rate doctors in the pay of the claims management companies or personal injury lawyers"0 -
There is one person on the energy forum who regularly accuses people (as in all of us) of being energy thieves. Does he get PPRd no of course not, but is it in the interest of some business to get him out of there, well no also of course not.
I have noticed recently several newcomers who are quite obviously "associated" with some business or other (reported a couple of them for advertising). But I do wonder how many interesting (euphemism for dodgy) businesses have people trawling on here looking for comments regarding their interesting business practices who are very careful to avoid declaring their interest as the forum demands.0 -

Agreed. I started off here as a member of the needy, less knowledgeable group 12 years ago. With help from dunstonh in particular, I turned into one of the former group and ended up helping people - hopefully at least people agree that I helped!
I haven't been able to help much over the last year as I've been having some health issues. The way things are going here, I'm not sure I'll be rushing back either.0 -

This is how I was. Having been here for over 10 years now, and still being under the 30 bracket his and others advise and help actually swayed me to working in the financial sector after studying at university (of which was nothing financially related).
I suspect without him and others who have answered some of my ridiculously stupid questions over the years I very much doubt I would be in the job I am today and with the knowledge and interests I have.0 -

Sorry to hear about your health Jem, hope things are improving for you!
This whole issue is upsetting, it also makes you wonder if what will be left can actually be trusted, if they can silence dunstonh who else are they silencing.
Before anyone suggests that I am paranoid - yes I am but so far no-one has been able to convince me that I am incorrect. Forget big brother look at big business. Anyone able to convince me that some business isn't responsible for this, anyone. Guess I'm not THAT paranoid after all.0
