.......
I am disgusted at those who reported him for removal.
We don't know that they did; surely more likely that London Capital are involved in his banishment, there are lots of precedents in other forums and fields of interest of the threat of legal action by an outside company causing an internal ruckus with the forum owner.
Where the owner is a commercial outfit they have to take a business view of the cost-benefit of defending their position which can get mega-expensive, so sometimes the path of least resistance is chosen.
Sometimes these situations are reversed too, so lets all be patient and hope that this turns out for the best.
PS - add my name to the list of those whose pensions knowledge and actual financial situation has been hugely improved as a result of his knowledge and wisdom.
Thanks dunst. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -

And on here.
I got notice of a similar "infraction" a couple of years back where an apparently valid notice "in accordance with section 5 of the Defamation Act 2013" had been served to MSE because the company concerned didn't like what I had to say about them, and even after I pointed out why my post wasn't covered by the act (the post concerned was (a) opinion and (b) factually correct), it still got deleted, because I refused to hand over my contact details.
Nothing further happened in that case however.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -
In the past some long serving members have been banned for simply having a different opinion than that of the MSE team.0

The more I hear about this issue, the more my confidence in the ethos of this site is shaken. I suspect that I'm not alone. P'raps MSE should revisit whose interests they represent: consumers or product providers. It can't be both.
The suspicion that dunstanH has been silenced for daring to express: a) an 'inconvenient' opinion or b) an 'inconvenient' truth is particularly distasteful given the ethos on which this site self-promotes.0 -
I add myself to the people stunned by this decision, and hoping it is still under review.
For those wondering about the forum search, such asNo, the search for user's posts is case sensitive; maybe you put a capital letter in the search box?
His posts can be found here.#
Unfortunately, silvercar, dunstonh's posts are NOT coming up, despite your helpful link.
What is going on?
Thankyou dunstonh, for years of knowledgable contributions.
... the reason is more mundane than you might be worried about.
The forum search seems to be volatile, only storing the results for a while. My guess is 20 or 30 minutes.0 -
I am amazed that this thread is still here. In my recollection any thread discussing a PPR'd member is swiftly deleted as it is supposedly against forum rules.0

When I received the official letter from Equifax saying my details had been stolen, my first port of call was a visit to this site - to see what dunstonh would advise - because anything said would be spot-on. To find he had been given the boot was a real shock. For goodness sake mods... bring him back ... we need him.0

dmg24 and wealdroam, both similarly helpful MSE members in the past, have self 'PPR'd' because of this issue.0

We don't know that they did
It's probably unwise to speculate any further about this permanent ban.0 -

Dunston's recent two week ban was due to being a bit curt in a number of posts, not for any comments about an outside company.
It's probably unwise to speculate any further about this permanent ban.
It appears to have been in relation to the thread noted, though no indication of whether the company was involved.
The comments I made were similar but seem to have avoided censure apart form their deletion.
There were certainly complaints from one poster whose apparent plagiarised posts were criticised and defended by the forum team.0
