And bear in mind this thread was set up assist people to satisfy the DD requirements of current accounts for interest.

Yes, I know. I wasn't disputing that.
Yes, I know. I wasn't disputing that either.
What you've said wasn't what I was asking. I was saying if they wanted the BM account, why not just use the other current account. Presumably in order to have the current account without the chequebook, it must already be open with the required DD or be looking to open the current account and looking for DD options. This hasn't been disclosed. But never mind. It's not a big deal.
I have one account with a chequebook. Its a standard account with no perks.
BM savings was going to be used purely for the DD requirement for one of my various accounts with perks that require a DD to get said perks.
I applied for BM account. They sent the docs over. To open the account id need to reapply to open new one with different linked account.
Its not difficult to understand.
Also i did email them abount it & they never responded.0 -

I was simply saying if he/she still wanted the BM account, use the current account with the chequebook. Pretty simple really.0 -

So how did you get the current account if you already don't meet the requirement and was looking at BM? Has a DD you had finished or been cancelled?0 -

What? Have you ever opened an account before?
How can you have a DD for an account that isnt open?
You open account, then set up DD.
If DD isnt set up, account still works, you just dont get interest.
Think you're a bit of a WUM, arent you that clown who thinks the 3% on tesco is better than the 5% on tsb!!!0 -

You implied you already had the account, saying "Problem being my account that requires the DD doesnt have a cheque book," that's why I was questioning if a DD had come to an end or been cancelled. You hadn't said you hadn't opened it yet. You've been quite vague about what it is you're actually trying to do and haven't really answered any questions, like when I asked who the account is with that doesn't supply cheque books in order to open with BM.
3% on Tesco gets you £88 over 12 months, 5% on TSB gets you £74. So, yes, it is.
You may think you sound clever or impressive being rude, but it actually just makes you look bad.0 -

Unless you're going to explain why, I'll assume you can't.
I was asked why I thought Tesco was better than TSB in terms of interest. It's a statement of fact that with both holding maximum balances, Tesco Bank earns more in interest despite being a lower rate. It's in black and white on MSE bank account page. Tesco Bank is even listed as a superior option to TSB.
I wasn't giving advice on what account to go for. And I don't see how it's 'impressively poor semi facts' when it is simply just fact that Tesco Bank earns more in interest with a lower rate on a max balance. Presumably you're referring to other requirements. But whatever, this isn't actually anything to do with direct debits and savings accounts.
