Can the DDs be setup online?
The mandate form can be downloaded and printed off for submission by post.is it the one starting with S and ending in R
No, but there's two l's0 -
I've just spoken to T*sco bank and the chap was adamant it has to be three separate and different direct debits to different companies to qualify.
Is that the official line I guess ?0 -

I am also having this problem.
Rang them yesterday and they said it would be frozen for 24 hours as I'd changed my linked account.
Rang today and she said it is one working day so I won't be able to do it til Monday , and then I may need to get the tech team to do it .0 -
different for me. Have 9 a/cs with different linked a/c. Didn't try to alter linked a/c on new one. Will try again Mon.0

As often happens with call centre staff, you may have gotten someone who doesn't fully understand how things actually work. The T&Cs for the Tesco current account state that you need three DD payments per statement month (keep in mind this isn't a calendar month for Tesco bank), but nothing about them having to be from separate mandates or to separate companies. Personally, I have a single mandate on each of my accounts that pays out weekly (so 4-5 payments are taken each month) and that qualifies me for the interest on both my accounts.0 -

I seem to have intermittent problems with this. It just seems to be a case of keep trying until it works. I have noticed however that if you try to change the linked account within 5-10 days of having previously set a new linked account (ie. while the DD is still being set up) then it will definitely fail. PO bank seems to take the full 10+ days to set up a new linked account.Medstudent wrote: »I managed to open one post office saver ages ago but when I try and open one of the new ones it always says technical difficulties having tried a few times with different browsers. Does anyone know how to get round this or is it just a case of keep trying?
In my experience it seems to be a case of keep trying until it works. The applications that fail due to technical difficulties often times are actually still live on the system, and can be sorted out with a quick (haha) phone call to PO bank. I had a few applications from 6 months actually get approved when I opened a new issue the other week so I had issue 30, issue 31 and issue 33 accounts all open at the same time :rotfl:0 -

I have been trying to set up direct debits with this bank for about four months now.The forms have been sent in four times now, each time I chase it up they say that there is no record of it despite on the second attempt they returned the forms to me wanting copies of the bank statements for the accounts that I want to pull money in from.Twice I have sent them in using envelopes supplied by them so the forms must be going to the correct address.Has anyone else had this problem?0
