If you've already got a BM account you've got a chance...0

So it's possible to open a current account this week, open both the PO and NM and get the direct debits set up to be taken before the end of the month to qualify for the £5 from TSB?
That's once you've got the account opened and linked your account. And key parts of the PO process use snailmail."In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -
I'm opening a TSB Classic Plus account this week and need two DDs, so if I can open both of these savings accounts this month and the DD's go out at the end of the month, I'll get an extra month of £5 from TSB for having two DD's go out this month as well as November and December.0

BM youve not no chance. I chucked my application in the bin as you can only open by posting off a cheque. Problem being my account that requires the DD doesnt have a cheque book. Id need to reapply with the one account that i do have a cheque book for then try & change the linked account. And now i really cant be bothered (i think ive got enough options anyway). So if they dont want my cash i'll take it elsewhere.0 -

Why not just do it from the account you have a chequebook for?
Who is the current account with that doesn't have a chequebook, do you mean they don't issue them or you haven't asked for one?0 -

That account doesn't need a DD, and they can't be bothered changing the linked account later to one that does.
No, they said the current account they want to do it from doesn't have a chequebook and so can't open it. They said they have a chequebook for a different current account but don't want to use use that current account for the DD. So I asked, why not just fund BM from the current account that does have a chequebook...
What you said isn't actually what the post said. The post said a nothing about the other current account not needing a DD. It's a case of what current account does have a chequebook in order to open with BM.0 -

They couldn't be bothered linking an account that did have a chequebook but didn't have a DD requirement (for interest/cashback etc), knowing full well there was another hoop to jump through later. Instead, they chose to look elsewhere for the DD that the current account without a chequebook required.
Make sense now?0 -

Yes, I know. I wasn't disputing that.YorkshireBoy wrote: »They couldn't be bothered linking an account that did have a chequebook but didn't have a DD requirement (for interest/cashback etc), knowing full well there was another hoop to jump through later. What you've said wasn't what I was asking. I was saying if they wanted the BM account, why not just use the other current account. Presumably in order to have the current account without the chequebook, it must already be open with the required DD or be looking to open the current account and looking for DD options. This hasn't been disclosed. But never mind. It's not a big deal.0 -

And bear in mind this thread was set up assist people to satisfy the DD requirements of current accounts for interest.0
