Just checking that there aren't any DD requirements on these accounts? I can't see anything on MSE saying so, or their websites. Seems unusual now considering M+S have upped it to 4 and Tesco is 3.

You are correct - there are no DDs required in order to maintain the accounts, just a minimum monthly pay in of £1500 and £500 respectively.
DDs are only required for the TSB Classic Plus account if you want to qualify for their £5 monthly cashback.0 -
Just quickly checked, and it appears as though neither account has any DD requirement. Though there are other terms that you need to adhere to.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

Oh are they still doing the cashback? I thought that had stopped.0 -
So if you opened an account today and had 2 direct debits, you'd get £5 cashback until December?0

I'm definitely going to switch from Halifax to NatWest in November, provided a better cash incentive with requirements I can meet doesn't come up.
I'm debating whether to do TSB yet. I have a feeling the 5% may be reduced back to 3% at some point and then it wouldn't really be worth the hassle of opening or keeping/maintaining.0 -

So why not open it whilst it offers 5%, and then decide whether it's worth the hassle of keeping/maintaining when/if it drops back to 3%.0 -

Yeah well I wouldn't have two direct debits pay out for October, only for November and December. So I'm in no rush this month. It's a shame they don't do their £125 in addition to cashback and interest.0 -
