  • Still being asked for a password digit that doesn’t exist - the 12th character of a 9 digit password to be precise - when I log in to retrieve my application.

I know others had this problem - anyone managed to get it resolved?
  • im gonna apply today and of the 3 accounts, which one have you all found to be the smoothest switch without any issues regarding various errors and ID verification required?

No check required here with the 'B' account. All set up within 10 minutes. Just need to figure out some DDs now.

Also does the £1000 need to stay in the account each month, or can I transfer in and then remove it within a few days?

I checked my credit report and shown are 3 anti money laundering searches and 1 admin review search but no record of an actual credit search from Yorkshire Bank. Perhaps as I only wanted the account and no overdraft that is probably the reason. However with other banks I have applied to in the past a credit search has always been done and again no overdraft required.

I have the same problem as the password it asks for is the internet banking one that you have not set up yet.

You need to call them up to fix it. I have tried a few times but given up after 10 mins on hold so going to have another go today.

Been trying for two days to apply with no luck. When I try on line it says sorry we can't log you in at the moment, please contact us for support. So when I ring them it just says thank you for holding, our lines are still busy, your call will be answered shortly. Was on hold for 40 minutes then had to go to work so hung up. What a waste of time!

@robrymond you can withdraw the £1000 it doesn't have to stay in. It has to be paid in with 31 days of the SWITCH date not account opening date.

I "seem" to have successfully applied and been accepted for the Current Account Plus. Yes, I did get a message about needing to confirm some details during the online application, but two days later a letter arrived and after a relatively short wait on their no doubt extremely busy phone lines, I was given pretty rapid confirmation that I had been accepted and given my acc no and sort code. I was told to ring up the next day for someone to talk me through the online registration .... that took about 30 mins to get through to an operator and go through the process. Not too bad considering the massive number of applications they must have had, and it was a Freephone number.

OK .... enough waffle .... I asked the customer service person a few questions that some others have been asking on here. so here are the answers ..... bear in mind that cs operatives have been known to get things wrong!

Q1) Is the money transferred in during the switch process counted towards the first £1000 to be paid in for the bonus? A: YES. SEE BELOW CLYDESDALE NOW SAY NO!

Q2) Does the NEXT 31 days start after 31 days from the switch date or from the date you pay in the 1st £1000 (may be different for some applicants)? A: Wait 31 days after the switch to pay in 2nd £1000, you have 31 days from then to pay in the 2nd £1000.
Q3) Does the balance during the month have to stay above a minimum e.g. £1000 ( that's me asking if I can withdraw the £1000 after it's paid in :) )? A: NO! We like your account to stay above £0 though under normal circumstances!
Q4) If I don't have any DD's on the account I am switching from, but can set up 2 DD's after the switch, does that change the switching process in any way? A: NO! You can do that. Just make sure your DD's pay out within 62 days of the switch.

********** See later posts - CB confirm that the switching amount does NOT count for the 1st £1000 ! ***********

    Hope that helps someone.
  • I've signed up me and my husband for the B account - joint.
However, despite that going through smoothly it never asked me my Switch Details or information for the account I wish to switch.
    Anyone else experienced this?

Otherwise it's been smooth, and I can login to internet banking and the app no problem - just concerned it isn't going to switch our other joint account.........

    Thanks in advance,
    Alipops x

Well that has to be one of the easiest account opening and switches I've done in ages! Application successful, already downloaded and logged into the app (takes a few tries to register your details as apparently the new app update has messed things up, but be persistent).
