well further to the mysterious 1 pound that disappeared from my account its now returned but its says branch on the information so assume it was a technical glitch.
Will wait for the debit card and pin to arrive before doing anything else with the account.0 -
I tried applying for a B account but the website said that I was already a customer. I did have an isa 10 or more years ago with Yorkshire Bank so assume that it refers to that.
It now won't let me continue with the application unless I provide either my username or account number. Neither of which I have.
I can try to call them in the morning but I'm really busy at work this week so that might prove difficult. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?
(sorry if this has been discussed already but I'm in a real rush today).0 -
There is an option on the logon screen "forgotten my Internet banking details'0

Yes. I chose Clydesdale as my local branch instead, and could open an account with them (but chose0 -
Has anyone had the message "Technical Glitch.....Your account will be open and ready the next working day ...etc".
I get this when I try to retrieve my application. That was from two days ago, so still haven't been able to switch.0 -
my wife applied Tuesday evening and is all sorted even receiving her debit card today.
my account was "referred" and someone would look at it and get back to me with a link to the decision within 2 working days.
as yet nothing. is anyone who applied Tuesday or before (and was referred - I don't mean was posted a activation code) still waiting any further contact? I read some earlier posts of people who applied Tuesday in the same position but had heard something on Wednesday.
using the "retrieve" application route takes me to the same "we need to take a closer look, 2 working days" etc etc message.
thank you.0 -
Same for me. Why r so many people having problems ? Perhaps they should have applied on Monday like you and I:D:D !!
Lucky you! I started trying on Monday...... turning into a saga!
It wouldn't accept my postcode for some completely obscure reason - and no a Victorian terrace is not a new build!!so I couldn't even saved the application as it wouldn't let me proceed further.:eek:Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I answered a few questions about when I last had a credit card and phone contract and then got hit with a screen saying
Sorry, but we couldn’t confirm all your details
Just to be extra secure, we’ve sent a letter with an authorisation code to your home address. When you get it, you’ll be able to use the code to continue your application.
happened to me this morning on the phone.
You answered one of the security questions incorrectly- but no-one knows which one.
Shouldn't be a problem once the code turns up in the postBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Upon completion of the application I received a message saying my application has been deferred and I will receive a response within two days. Anyone else received that? I am not getting my hopes up as based on my experiences of applying for accounts online, I either get accepted immediately or not at all.
Same happened when I applied for my wife. I hope they sort it out quick before they withdraw the bonus.0 -
Does anybody know if you still qualify for the £250 if switching a joint account where the additional account holder has already done their own individual switch?
I'm hoping yes as it's a separate customer who isn't already a member joining but nothing to confirm that I could find.0
