i have switched my wife's successfully.
Mine however, I got to the "submit" button then an error appeared. I can't fill the form in again as it says I already have an account. When I click "retrieve my application", it says there's an error.
I've rang customer services and they said they are aware of the problem and will update when it's working.
Anyone else have this issue?0 -
Just applied for an account for my mum and got a security question wrong, it therefore said that a authorisation code has been sent to her address and then the page loaded up saying technical error.
Does anyone know if a authorisation code will have been sent or should another page have come up when the error page did?
She did chose her username and password before the security so will these have successfully been recorded?0 -
The service provided with this supposed switch is perhaps the most laughably bad of any that I have ever experienced in years of switching.
Spend pots of money on a flash website. Of course it goes down immediately, unable to cope with utterly predictable volumes of applications. Do they sort it? Like hell they do. Oh no. Instead, when you try to make a new application, it won't tell you, telling you you have already made one, and to log in instead. Except that you haven't, because the login details you put in never got accepted. Cue six attempts to get through on the phone, with not a sniff of ever getting answered.
The service at this bank is so laughably bad that quite honestly I wouldn't want an account with them anyway. Simply embarrassing. They are manifestly out of their depth.

In fairness to MSE this offer was publicized in all the major newspapers over the weekend so I'm not surprised they are inundated with people trying to apply and switch0

It is a bit worrying, I've had the same problems as those above, they have promised to ring me tomorrow but I still don't know whether I've been accepted. I do need to talk to them though, in the application process it said I'd taken out a personal loan in August this year (I haven't) so I need to get that cleared up.
On another note received a letter from Tesco saying from April next year they will no longer accept direct debit payments into their savings products. That's going to !!!!!! me up but hey ho, I'm not exactly getting rich with all these current accounts.0 -

However, if you go onto the site, and click "retrieve my application" - fill in your password etc, it will take you through the rest of the form where you are confirmed and can switch
I'll upload the ID later
Thanks for this, I've now submitted my switch request. I have to agree with others on the shockingly poor user experience when applying for this account. It's almost as if CB/YB/B have intentionally tried to made it a game of hide and seek. If it weren't for the advice of MSE forum members, including yourself, I'd probably still be languishing at Step #1 of the process!!! .....
PS - On the "Pick up where you left off" page (https://www.youandb.co.uk/continue-application) I notice a "Proof of income" document upload section. Given I wasn't asked for this at an earlier stage in the application process, should I just ignore this unless/until I receive an email requesting such documentation?0 -
The user experience doesn't get much better....
I've just signed into my new B account via Clydesdale's Internet Banking service. Half of the links on the account overview page are essentially dead ends and take you to a blank page which says "the connection has timed out", after which you have to close the window and go through the process of signing in again!....
EDIT - I attempted a sacrificial £1.00 transfer in from an external account and it is showing up on B account, so that process seems to be working at least...0 -
Got my application approved with Clydesdale but I live in Northamptonshire !!! It should be Yorkshire branches ! Grrrr0

Rest assured....it worked for me. I am just waiting for my £250 bonus now.0
