    Does it matter?

Even assuming you are going to use this as your 'main' current account, do you need branch access?
And if you get the 'B' account you can use either anyway.

Rest assured....it worked for me. I am just waiting for my £250 bonus now.

    And for me.
Got emails confirming account opening and switch request immediately after applying.
Applied Monday got debit card delivered in post Wednesday. PIN arrived today Thursday.
  • Did anyone else get stuck on authorisation?
I answered a few questions about when I last had a credit card and phone contract and then got hit with a screen saying

Sorry, but we couldn’t confirm all your details
Just to be extra secure, we’ve sent a letter with an authorisation code to your home address. When you get it, you’ll be able to use the code to continue your application.

Same for me. Why r so many people having problems ? Perhaps they should have applied on Monday like you and I:D:D !!
  • However, if you go onto the site, and click "retrieve my application" - fill in your password etc, it will take you through the rest of the form where you are confirmed and can switch :)

Cheers for that nugget. Uploaded ID on Tuesday but not heard anything. Logged in. Application was successful. Account opened. Switch requested.
  • Applied for the B account - and got accepted right away. Application was very straightforward as well. The only issue I'm having is that it's taking ages (well, longer than usual) to receive the text message with the code. Account up and running. Just waiting for the code to log into the app now.

I sacrificed an old Coop account that I hadn't bothered to close. Going to transfer two direct debits over to the Coop so they can be switched to the new account. Nice way to make £250. :)
