    Still on 11/15

Bit the heads off two frogs, the cleaning of the fridge, and the mucking out of my car, that my kids seem to think is a skip on wheels. Anyone know the best remover of oozing skittles off a car carpet? Nasty white blobs of stickiness, where does the colour go??? It's a mystery, as Toyah gleefully shrieked. Hoovered and cleaned its windows too. Ready for winter with new scrapers and de-icer in situ.

Ooops, ETA today was a NSD after all, so that makes 12!

f0xh0les ice cubes might work, recommended for chewing gum. You rub with the ice cube to harden the lump which makes it easier to separate from the fabric of the carpet and then scrape with a flat knife> There are specialist things you can buy but I've found the ice cube and knife method mostly works.

Today I am grateful for still being able to walk after yesterday's shred, for getting what we needed fom the shop to qualify for using / gaining money off, for a chatty dd, for dh helping me in the garden (our apple trees have had a severe lopping session), for knowing when to stop so that I haven't wrecked my hands for the next few days, for dd voluntarily doing some homework she detests (y5 English comp from CGP - cannot work out what some of the questions want! Grr), for getting the bees' wings attached, for dd's friend coming out to play, for swallowing some frogs today.

I've really enjoyed today. For the first time in ages I have time to think. There are still things that need doing but I don't feel that I am on the last minute or even late. They have all gone out - did not know if it was for all day (looking like it was) or just to the cinema.

I have been to the library to get more books and to see best buddy - he wasn't there. Spoke to the man in charge and he was supposed to have been there last week as well (there is a series of plays for children on with art activities based around it) but had not turned up and not sent word. So need to check if he is okay.

Whilst the youngsters were out I have 'done' my room. I put my clean bedding in their room. First time in weeks I have been in there so found, rinsed and binned 76 cans and bottles whilst my lunch was cooking. I am still feeding the washing machine but only have one or two lots left to go - athough their bedding looked a bit grey.

Emptied the bath, bagged all the loose stuff in my room (mostly in categories but at the end (really tired) I just bunged everything in together and stacked all the bags in the bath.

Have swept all the bits from under the bed and off to the side (mostly scraps of paper from cutting up magazines but will go through it later) until the brush head came off. Turned the mattress over, brought the bedding back and collapsed on the bed with a lovely pink salad box (wide selection including beetroot, potato, pasta and bean salads plus lots of onion, pepppers and sweetcorn and half a boiled egg but it had mingled to a lovely pink).

Still surrounded by chaos but me, the bedding, the laptop, my reading book and my bag (glasses, money, hankie, phone and pills) are in an oasis of calm on the bed. If any of them want a bath, they will bring my bags back for me, won't they?

I also found lots of strong cardboard boxes in all sizes in their room - some of the messiness in here is down to the pile of empty boxes I brought from downstairs, taking up space but not actually anything in them. So I should be able to make a lot of 'organising' stuff with those, drawer dividers etc (found two large empty pringles cans too).

I have been thinking a lot about storage, looking through pinterest ideas on organising plus a wander through some selling websites yesterday. I know the idea is not to buy more storage but to reduce your stuff but I need some things for mum to finish off her kitchen (with as little stress and heavy diy as possible) and I have released a lot of boxes and baskets recently.

My kitchen is a mess, not just the current mess but because Beloved is a gadget freak (DS3 is currently bidding on a second slushie maker as they have now bought some sugar free sauce for him) and tends to leave things out after she has used them, so there is no available work space. I have an 8' chunk of wood which I plan to use as an extra shelf (cupboards are too high for Beloved) and there is a small table which I was going to put at the end of the worktop going under the stairs. I am thinking I might be trying to do too many things with what I have and am being seduced by cheap add-ons (still have some hooks and bars to put on doors) to give extra storage in odd corners. Will ponder some more - Beloved has access to her mum's am*z8n pr*me account so we can get fast delivery.

Feeling rested now so will get back to sorting. Today I am grateful for peace and quiet, for finding useful stuff (maybe it's just the way I look at things) and for having a lovely new springy part of the mattress to use.

    Day 28
Hugs to those who need them.
    NSD today 21/20
    Did no exercise today.
Made lunches for my Mum and me as I went to the study day.
Got the date for the next study day - 17th March 2018. They were selling the booklet that the study day is going to be based upon. Looked up on the internet and downloaded it as a pdf. Willing not be printing it out as there is over 200 pages. Saved me £5. They also tried to sell me another book which cost £15. Did not buy it. So in total saved £20.
    Grateful for:
A relaxed morning as I had done the food/household shopping yesterday. Saturday is my usual day for shopping.
Managed to not give in and buy books at the study day.
    A relaxing evening.

    Hi all :j

NSD now 14/15 ...might just do it!!

Organise: Some sorting done in main bedroom plus downstairs room....realised that I had started with the dining room in order to get a new carpet in there (not finished & probably as bad as when I started tbh) and the cellar - also not finished BUT DH is emptying kitchen drawers (still) and cellar was good enough that friend could inspect then recommend lighting which he will fit for us...so some progress.

Lunch: Bacon sandwiches made by DH as always. Tried turkey bacon (?) BLT tasted fine & obv no fat..HG toms

Supper: Finally got to use the chicken & made Mayflower curried chicken with half & half - rice & HM chips

Pud was apple pie for DH & a choc bar thingy for me & DD. OK but over sweet, not a fan.

    Food budget: £191.96/250

Be kind: Did my best, easier today as I had enough sleep!!

One more time: Bit of a chocolate feast tonight but otherwise OK

Extra Income: Clearing large bag of paper work found £13 of M&S vouchers that don't expire till 30/11 so well pleased.

Christmas: Craft stuff came but didn't do anything with it yet

    Exercise: see gardening

    Heating: still off

Grateful for: Time in garden although had to cut the bloomin grass again - surely it must be time for the darn stuff to stop growing surely?

Frog: some progress on bedroom frog - selling one I sorted a couple of things out. Tomorrow is another day....onward turtles!!
