    Day 27
Was a spend day. Did the food/household shopping and had to do some other spends, eg get bus pass, tv mag and paper for printer. Have put spends into notebook.
Mum and I both had a dental appointment. First time since my Mum got her wheelchair I managed to persuade her to go by bus. Managed alright getting my Mum and wheelchair on and off the bus. This saved £10 in cab fares. So can count this as a frog completed. Can now take Mum to her favourite shop - M&S.
Put some extra money into my savings.
    Grateful for:
Mum able to use bus with wheelchair.
Having a chilled out afternoon and evening.
Being under budget with the food/household spend. £136.56/£150
Achieving quite a bit this morning.
Mum and I both just had a dental checkup no treatment needed.

pauper Im really sorry you are having a hard time of it

dancingdragons that is an AWESOME idea, thank you

Tonight weve decorated pumpkins! And entered Tescos pumpkin carving competition (free). Not holding out much hope :rotfl: kids too young to carve so we painted lol but we had great fun.

How lovely you were able to help someone out. So sad Christmas brings such stress to people.

I've probably gone over my food budget with what I 'spent' yesterday - paid for evrything on mum's card and worked out what I owed her (less what I spent for her earlier in the week) today. Have spent more today on requested food but I am going to count that as a belated birthday present for Beloved/ halloween party for the 2 of them plus guests.

I had asked that they throw any washing down before I left the house yesterday - they gave me quilts pillows and a stuffed chicken in addition to the clothes mountain. Started processing that and the washing up last night and again today. Put a lot outside to get as dry as it could.

Went to the afternoon film with mum then put her in a taxi. Had to come home as food was due between 3 and 5 and they had to go and meet their guest. Clothes line had snapped but luckily the only thing on the floor was a quilt and it and the paving had both dried so no marks. Did another temporary repair on the washing line - looping the ends round each other and lassooing the wall hook whilst standing on the bricks round the grid. Also had drying quilts draped over garden chairs and the water butt. Have now moved as much as possible inside utilising radiators, doors, spare chairs and a set of ladders.

Two more lots hung outside so I can prioritise the order they come in and chicken, 2 more sheets and assorted undies washing now. Most of the crockery and cutlery have been WUDUPA and the bain marie has some pans to hang out with. Some pans need more work and there may still be odd items lurking around the house but will plod on and may get to the surfaces tomorrow.

Wanted to go to the evening film. Had a little rest after the food came. Had met their guest and asked that if they cooked any of the food I had bought, make enough for me too. DS3 said he was ordering Chinese but would include me. Dozed off, went downstairs as the food arrived. he had forgotten me and by the time I put something in to cook it was too late for the film. Not terribly bothered - being quietly domesticated is quite satisfying today.

Have been thinking about yesterday's assessment and distill where I am up to and what I want to do and I think "Make intelligent choices". The last two weeks have been tough but I have survived. I am starting to feel the relief of having tackled my frogs and 'obligations' and thinking about what needs doing in November.

I have overspent on food although a lot of it is stocking up and will be used over the next few months. Want to spend some time thinking about how I shop for both myself and mum - it's taking too much of my time and I want us to have a 'store' for if we become really ill or we have bad weather. I have checked the calendar and mum has 2 appointments for the first week of the new year but until then only regular visits from the nurse. I have to see the doctor in December and will need a repeat prescription before then. Shoulder is much better today, still a little sore but with a full range of movement.

Today I am grateful for the lovely people who run the film club, for quiet domesticity and for a full freezer.

It is our choices that show who we really are, far more than our abilities

Without self-compassion and forgiveness, you can't live your best life in this moment when remnants of the past are holding you back

    Hi all :j

NSD now 13/15 ...might just do it!!

Organise: Hmm hardly anything today, felt pretty rough tbh & couldn't really do very much at all with this one. Main culprit was DD who 'should' have been back here after late shift abt 12.30pm No message from her, & reluctant to contact her as she works for the emergency services...never been a worrier before...she finally turns up 2 hours late, buzzing & with lots of tales. Of course then I can't sleep & when I finally do, have to get up early & spend the rest of the day fogged....grrr. Did say 'well you could have let us know you were going to be 2 hours late!!' On nights now so she wont be back before 7.30 am which is fine..

Lunch: HM leek & potato soup, plus rest of egg mayo with small soup for DH...Pauper1 Yes I usually manage to smuggle at least a couple of eggs per day into the menu in the interests of decreasing the egg mountain. It's now down to the last tray of 36!! Forgot to say I also used another one yesterday for glazing the various baked goods - they have never looked so bronzed :rotfl: On a more serious note I hope you are feeling better & having a bit of a giggle at the various tales we all tell!

Supper: Oh massive fail here...hangs head in shame.. Had got chicken thighs out, skinned then poached them in order to make them into 'something' but lost the plot. DH then fetched fish & chips from the local chipper - sadly the fish was overcooked & I didn't eat much. The dogs however, were really happy with the leftovers...they luuurve fish..

Pud was jam tarts for DH & a choc bar thingy for me & DD. OK but over sweet, not a fan.

    Food budget: £191.96/250

Be kind: Crikey this was a struggle today. Felt like telling DD if she was going to keep me up all night she needed to go to her own home, 8 mins away...but bit lip...However failed to be kind with DH. Parcel was due to be delivered (gift for DD Christmas/birthday etc). Told him to keep an eye out as she was up...typically he was outside with the animals & she had to answer the door. That would have been OK, but the item's box was emblazoned with its name, a picture of the contents etc etc.. My only hope is that she didn't actually notice as she had only just got up & didn't want to answer the door, so just shoved it inside. She didn't mention it so maybe not...here's hoping..

One more time: Total fail today

    Extra Income: Survey done

Christmas: More craft stuff coming need to make a plan of who gets what otherwise it will socks, socks & yet more socks if I can ever get to finish them

    Exercise: Nope

    Heating: still off

Grateful for: Not having to go out in my foggy state, writing to my cousin using google translate, DH trying to help by sorting out the first lot of drawers in the kitchen. There must be at least 40-50 so he has a way to go ...he binned animal medicines from 20 years ago!!

    Frog
: no progress on bedroom frog or on selling one. Tomorrow is another day....onward turtles!!

    Hi Turtles :D

    Just checking in!

Today is NSD 19:j almost there!

Currently looking up English Heritage places to go to tomorrow with a picnic! got my card for 7 pounds after I saved up my club card vouchers and so far its been brill. :money: always handy to have a free day out at hand. On 11th Nov we are off to a xmas fayre- should have been 10 pounds each to get in  but free with my card!

Had to save slightly less than I had hoped this month but if I ever get my tax free Childcare I will pop it into savings to get that back up. Eldest goes free in 10 months- if I come out the otherside with house savings and not another penny to our name I will be chuffed as its so tight with the cost of childcare.

Ordered my mums xmas gift last night and did a bit more of my brothers. had a voucher code for a brand she loves- even better!

Going to start going YS shopping next week. Survived with our freezer while hub was away but thats running low now. Id like to have full cupboards for when winter really sets in.

Today I am greatful for a quiet day at home, hub bringing me a brew in bed, winter and all the lovely things thay come with the winter months- christmas fayres and snuggling up with a film!
  • We had a lovely day out yesterday. C didn't get the things that he wanted so I'll order them online for him today. We did buy a M & S Dine in for 2. Absolutely enormous chicken which will make two dinners for three of us plus stock for soup and sandwiches. It wasn't really needed but too good a chance to miss. C took me for lunch and we had a really long chat making plans for holidays and discussing some things that were causing him to be a bit depressed recently.
So weekend today. No real plans but lots to do.
    Hope everyone is well.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
