Hi everyone, I just typed out a lovely post to you all and it all disappeared! I've spent the last few days reading through this whole thread, and I'm feeling SO inspired. Will the November one be the same principles?

I'd like to do a mini October tag along challenge if I may. Our pay month started on the 20th, and I downloaded the Moneywise app to keep a record of everything. So my budgets for the last bit of October are below:

    Groceries £13.65/£77.41
    Petrol £0/£58.06
    NSD 0/6
    "Beauty" and Entertainment £42.96/£63.87
    Extra income £10.93/£24
    Exercise 0/6

The entertainment category is a lot more spendy than usual because it is my birthday, DS's birthday and party, and we've all gone for haircuts (never happens all in the same month, I haven't had mine cut for a year)

I'm so excited! This challenge is right up my street.
    Make £2025 in 2025 #18 - £569.66/£2025
    1p savings challenge #32 £24.85/£667.95

    March - 0/15 NSD, £189.29/£168.75 made, PAD £72/£186, £184.87/£400 GC

    Total debts Jan 1st £11706.68 😭
    Jan 29th £11354.92

    Mar 1st £11015.30

    Day 21/31
Still got my cold, I have an underlying condition which means that my immunity isn't as it should be, and I felt awful this afternoon, so went to bed. Felt worse when I got up, but better now :)

Didn't manage to update yesterday, but had to do a smallish shop, mainly ingredients for Christmas mincemeat, thought I would do this sooner than usual as I have gifted apples to use :). Sadly more spent due to OH's wanting beer - will have to find receipts and update my signature

Had hoped to do loads today but almost nothing accomplished - I cooked dinner and made some scones and an apple crumble but little else. As I slept nearly all afternoon I may do a few more bits this evening though- maybe make the mincemeat, which is after all only measuring and stirring as I already have cooked apple - the smell will cheer me up :)

Nothing spent today, so claiming a NSD :)
Extra income - some surveys and small ebay sales :)
Used up food from fridge for meals, had freshly cooked home grown veg with dinner :)

((Hugs)) mothernerd, you do so much for other people, do take time to take care of you as well :(

    Day 21

    NSDs: 15/15
    Exercise: Cycled - 2/12
    10k steps - 6/22
    Food Budget: 74/100
    Extra Income: 110.51/150
Study min 1 hour per day: 2/12

Wow I can't believe I have hit my NSD target already! I realised just now that my last spend day was last Sunday which was a top up food shop at £20! If only I could get away with spending only £20 every week! I'm back up to £10 on PA which I will add to my income when I cash out when I hit £20. Also doing great on the studying, I have a good 8 hours on a Sunday where I only have to do a top up food shop so will get lots of studying done there.

I love the frog thing, I think for me this month my studying has been a huge frog but now that I've finally got past it I might have to come up with another, listing things on eBay would be a good one as I always put it off.

Just quickly logging in a NSD today as have mostly moved from the bed to the sofa and back to bed again. So weirdly tired so have just lazed around. I haven't done anything else on the list and I am absolutely ok with that.

I have spent a lot of time online, I'm sure if it wasn't for this thread I would have spent some money today as I did a lot of online browsing, even though there is nothing I need I kept looking, I have an Amazon gift voucher I could have rationalised spending but am saving it for when I actually need something. That and watching Pixar movies and napping in-between has been my day.

Well done to everyone doing well and hugs to anyone struggling.

I have been working on my frogs - 4 phone calls made.

I like fmess' reference to toads too - the French word for a toad is 'crapaud' which can be said with much feeling!

Today I am grateful for a lovely chat with a mum at dance, for smooth train connections, for bumping into old friends on the platform at bham new street - and getting on the same train!, for not getting too wet whilst out and about, for dd settling quickly, for the heating working (the house has been empty for several months and it was clear when we arrived that some warmth was required), for a plan for tomorrow, for getting some crafting done (gingerbread men all finished and a plethora of robins cut out), for time to sit and mooch on mse.

Welcome Pauper1. The exact goals of the challenges vary as a different person takes on each month, but a lot of the content is the same, mainly rules laid out by Kat who used to run the NSK challenges before she went travelling.

Some people have a theme - abundant took us all on 'a winter voyage' in February and in the past I have made people be September Squirrels and look at 'Finding Your Inner Ferret' (ferret war dance yeah). The number of NSDs might vary (sometimes set your own target) and some months one aspect might be given more promise. Kat was also very keen on including a random rule from mending something in your house to random acts of kindness.

Glad you caught up with the 'frogs' mummylewis. I can't ignore mine as I am surrounded by craft clutter and it's not going back on the floor - it will be cut into chunks and packed neatly. I have been watching old films and embroidering this afternoon - think after last weekend's marathon boring sewing session I need to do interesting stuff - it's also Christmas prep (one piece is for DS1 and his Beloved moving into their new home, which should have been this month, but has been put back).

Spendy day today - needed fizzy water and some bits. Also spent some of my diy budget on stationery/ tidy up/ revamp bits in the pound shop - big spend for me but still less than the cost of thrifty's new diary. I have tabs to add to my diary and copper wrapping paper to revamp my little drawers (hold embroidery threads and some general crafts/ stationery).

Planning to make myself a tardis which will unfold and have triangular sections inside to hold pens, pencils, etc and my old expanding file will be recovered inside with rows of pockets to house same so I can take it to crafts and then untie the ribbon and all the goodies will be safe inside. Bought crepe paper to make my 'cauldron' (covering one of my stock pots).

Will develop the ideas further whilst I am plodding through the tidying.

Today I am grateful for finding the things I needed at bargain prices, for not needing much shopping (was totally washed out doing what I did) and for finding free patterns on the internet for some gifts I want to make.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
