    Today is 8/15!

Is it just me, or is there much more left of October than there are funds this month?
It is really tight this month when usually I have much more of a bit of a buffer.
Still 10 days left until payday too.

But, there is food in the house, jobs that I can do are getting done, two passports are coming back today, I sent them less than 10 days ago. Hooray!

DH is at work today so am going to clean the house. In prep for the kids going back to school on Monday.

  • Thrifty, thank you for sharing the diary/book/mass organiser. Added to buy later.
I hope you are all having a much needed feet up kind of day.

Yesterday proved to be a SFD DH treated me to a meal out, and covered the parking. So that makes 3.
Exercise done while walking to the library for a little quiet research. 3 else 4 miles all in.
I pinned up a list of things (frogs!) I wanted to get a start on before I left, came back and found DH and DDs had tackled 2, (weeds from the garden front and back) DD2 is currently doing another. (Tidying bedroom sorting toys) So all my gratefuls are going there.
Also got the bathroom completely cleaned, scrubbed and such.
Improvise. DD1 ate all the cheese for the pasta bake tonight. So it'll be a chicken stock pasta bake. I can hear her complaining already :D
Mum asked me to snag a coat she'd spotted on ebay for DD1 xmas (?) so now out of money until she pays me back or tues which ever happens first.
Extra Income. - Accepted on to Google's Screenwise monitoring system, but they claim there's an extra £250 a year. Not sure how I feel about letting Big Brother into my house. As we say QUESTION EVERYTHING. Their snooping software doesn't get along with my Adblocker so we're not off to a good start.

More frog catching tomorrow. I think its high time I had a movie night with my girls :D

  • Today has been a NSD.

Tomorrow won't be as we need to go food shopping and pick up some bits.

I'm making good progress with the table seat plan - it's nearly finished and looks ok for a diy job.

Healthy eating today has been on point! Porridge for breakfast, used up the last spuds and had jacket for lunch.

Productive day in the garden and the house. Harvested some more and prepped it for the freezer, cleaned the car, the bike and got some washing dry before the rain came. Did the Halloween shop too. Another 15 quid spend (one costume, a mask to go with a bed sheet i had, some sweets) , but that's me now for the rest of the month. DH will need to buy the pumpkin kin next week.

Managed my 14th NSD- cant imagine ill need anything tomorrow either. Next week will be the challenge I think because hubs home.

Cleaned car, took a load of stuff to the charity shop, started my brothers Christmas shopping. Not looking forward to weigh in on Monday but over all happy with what ive achieved this week.

My frog will be running- I will start this monday once hub is here to watch boys.

Greatful for- my friend watching the kids for half an hour while I went to charity shop, the nice guy in the shop who helped me pick out a present for someone (off my brother)& cuddling up with my boys while its miserable outside
  • Evening all!

Very sorry not to have checked in for for few days. Had a difficult couple days breathing so I've not done much.

Got the car boot done last weekend, was a pretty good morning tbh, made £66.50, which has gone straight in the 'fun savings'. Its the start of a holiday fund that will probably take 5 years to fill but feels good to have started anyway!
Any left over bits went to charity.

DH spent a couple of hours clearing out and cleaning our wardrobes yesterday. Got a couple more bags for charity/the tip.

I've done some moving about in the spare room while DD napped today, starting to see the wood for the trees!

We've been pretty spendy tbh and still only on 5 NSDs. We put it off as long as we could but we had to buy a tumble dryer. It arrived on Tuesday and works a charm. AO service was fab and got £40 off in the sale.

Got SILs Xmas present, have finished making other SILs present and know what I'm getting DB. DSF has asked for money towards something more expensive which is fine by me. Have well and truly used up all the Xmas budget for this month but I figure that it's less to spend next month and I havent gone over the people budgets so it'll all be ok in the end.

DH was paid yesterday and I'm paid next week. A have a new calendar that is weekly and has lots of columns so I'm being a good turtle and have included a budgets column. Whilst October has proven spendy, I'm feeling good about doing better in November.

Tomorrow were working so should be a NSD, will check in again then :)

    Day 21
Was a spend day. Update signature with food/household spends, also in notebook. Brought a new home card for a friend and brought a chocolate treat whilst at a play at the local theatre.
Did buy 2 packets of shop own brand of stuffing for Christmas.
Going to do the eat a frog challenge. Started with getting the peppermint oil for the mice issue yesterday. Issue has been going on and off for a few months. Kept putting off getting the oil. Have sorted out one of the light bulbs in the kitchen which needed replacing this morning. Also sorted the light bulb outside the front door. Think it got knocked a little bit whilst the varnish was painted on the door and surrounding area. Was not coming on. So took the light bulb out and put it back into the fitting and it is now working. Still got to sort out the kitchen cupboards.
Went to the local theatre. The play was ok.
Have not read book or exercised today.
    Grateful for:
    A good night sleep.
A couple of hours sleep before I went to the theatre.
Not getting too stressed whilst shopping.
Achieving a few things this morning.
    Having a chilled out evening.
Managed to get a price guarantee voucher for £1.56. Will be used for next week's shopping.

Eat a frog, i. e. deal with sth that you've been putting off, that you've been dreading. Could think of a few myself. Might make a before xmas list.
