Hello,
Loads of busy and productive turtles again.
We had an SFD, went to the park, collected conkers and leaves, spend time in the garden getting more stuff ready for winter. Also painted a feature wall in our bedroom a warm yellow (lo from guest bedroom) and what a difference it makes. Still second coat and edges to do before DH gets back. Ate a frog and sorted the diy drawer that contains screws, hammers, chisels etc. Sorted all different skews etc in individual boxed etc and made it a lot saver.
Ate some more frogs by getting two other paints out and touching up scratches and chips in the kitchen and hall.
Back to school tomorrow, so no more packed lunches (yay) but ironing back on list, boohiss.
Made homemade pizza with the kids and was the only one who ate it. They love making it but then... Oh well, they just had the crusts for dinner.
And last but not least checked my craft stash. Got enough gift bags to decorate myself, tags, ribbon, stuff to make cards (just need blank cards), gift tags etc etc.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Always Be Kind.
Not sure this applies, it's totally messed up this weeks food plan. Mum has been "grin and bearing" it. She's having a downstairs loo added - but for the last two weeks hasn't had a cooker, (it was only supposed to be out for 24 hours!) When I popped round, she pointed out that she and dad have been living on mircowave meals:mad: So I told them to stop being stiff upper lipped about it all and invited them to come round, cooked a christmas worthy sunday roast, (raiding all I had in to supplement the beef on the plan) and sent them home with the left overs that should see them through till Wednesday. - But it means we'll have to be inventive for our lunches as I had planned to use the beef.
Today was a ickle spendy day on a planned NSD because of it, the backup fiver was used to finish off the extravagance with a chocolate gateaux from Aldi. DD1 had drank us out of milk. (I won't buy endless fizzy stuff, either too much sugar, or equally as bad, Aspartame. DD1 hates me)
Improvise. Because I'd turned the net off (Evil me, strangely enough, DD1s bedroom suddenly ended up tidy!:rotfl:)DD1 found the carrot cake mix, while sulking. So now we have lots of carrot cake fairy buns. DD2 pulled out the Hama beads and made me a replacement coaster.
DD1 Also dropped onto the sofa so hard she broke the reclining mecanism. We got the sofa second hand but still. A quick raid in the tool box and a few bolts have fixed it, but it's not as smooth as it was, and you need to persuade it to recline. *sigh* Thats the dinner table and the sofa on last legs now.
So after today I have lost track of the budget completely.
Organise:
Need a better way to track the budget, in/out going. Found note book. All spends going in there.
Need to discover what DD1 raided for the fairy cakes to replace, as I'd planned on using the CakeMake box for DD2's Bday party next month.
Stoptober: No complaints from DD2 about mash, green things, or carrots. One mega meal fed them all.
Banned: I can't totally avoid the coffee shop on Tuesdays but have been thinking about costs both £ and lb on this regular visit. Only having Tea/Green tea while I wait now.
Exercise: Nothing official, just running around after myself;)
Winter/Be Prepared. Checked the Hot Water bottles for leaks.
Christmas. Out of the blue DH suggested we didn't go overboard with nibbles and nice foods this year. (We've often picked up all the nice things Aldi gets in for a Christmas eve feast. Seems silly to have loads of food both days!) So if all goes to plan I won't need to do a big "We need that to make the day special" shop. :j
If nothing else this year has reminded me that Christmas isn't what you buy, its how you spend your time. :beer:Debt Free April 2019:j to July 2019NEW WTC:eek:1,194

Today was not a NSD
DS2 had trashed his school shoes again - I checked all the school shoes and DS3 also needed new school shoes and trainers. Popped to the rubbish shoe shop and picked them all up for less than £40. Could have been so much worse.
After-school clubs are totalling £100 up til Xmas break. This is getting ridiculous now and needs looking at. This is not including this term's swimming lessons. It is now officially a frog that needs biting.
The whole house (up til the kitchen door) is clean and tidy. Even the kids' rooms have been tidied and look great.
The heating is not actually ON, but yesterday I did hit the 'one hour' button as it was slightly chilly and the button has been used twice today, once at lunchtime and once just now, and the hot chocolate has been deployed.
I do not count the heating as being ON until the timer is set for getting up time and kids going to bed time. Still £280 in credit with gas and electric company - should see us through the winter.
I think I have had enough of October now. Only nine days left to go.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Organise: I have had a little tidy and listed something for sale....I always find Im very reluctant to sell things.
-Regular: 189/200.
-Get ready for winter: --
-Always be kind: I think I could have been a bit kinder. I got a bit irritated with people telling me how to be pregnant sometimes....from what I gather I have to get used to people telling me how to be a parent once the kid arrives  I know it doesnt come from an unkind place when people do that but it is irritating.
NSD: today was a NSD, with today and yesterday I think I am now 11/20
Stoptober: I havent been budget obsessing as friends came to visit which distracted me.
Exercise: Some friends visited and we went for a walk - was told it was about 8k by a friend who fitness tracks everything.
Banned: Have been sticking to this to hardly leaving the house
Extra Income: nothing earned yet but have listed something rather pricy on Gumtree. Hopefully itll sell, I would rather not have to pay ebay and paypal a lot of money. I will give it a couple of weeks, if it doesnt sell I will list on ebay paying a % out is better than getting nothing at all.
missed 4 days of logging in so far this month.0 -
Hello turtles!
Just a quick update today. Work was busy, but managed a NSD.
Finished the week a fiver ahead of weekly food budget!
On a course tomorrow, I'm looking forward to it because it's for work (and they paid for it!) but it's not attached to work so leaves me with a license I can use forever. Winner!
Night all!

I hope everyone has had lovely weekends and is ready to face the new week. We've got this! Honestly, I love reading about your days, you're all so inspiring.
We wandered to our village craft fair this morning, just for somewhere to go really, but didn't spend a penny there. We did pop into the shop for a few bits on the way though but all unavoidable things. DH took DS on the train to soft play while I did some uni work so that was a bit spendy, but I'd usually go with them and sit in the cafe with a coffee so we saved a bit there! This evening I used some Nectar points to order a few things off eBay for DS's party so I'm feeling pretty chuffed with myself. I've made a list of frogs to tackle this week too, will see how I get on.

Hope you all have had a good weekend and the storm didn't affect you. Heard it was pretty bad in some areas.
Another NSD .Up to 18 now.
Put more things on ebay. Worked out that I've sold just over £60 of stuff this month. All stuff that was cluttering the flat up.
Think ebay and decluttering might be my frog. Going to take a long time to eat it:rotfl:

Hi all
Enjoying reading all your posts.
Stuck to my NSD. Hub and I usually have the same budget but have seperated our finances this month as hes been away and he picked up some white chocolate for one of my cakes. Back to joint again next month so will need to keep a reign on him next month
Back on the scales again tomorrow and working hard to get an extra stone off. My frog is to run again now I have him home to watch the boys.
Got some free baby pouch samples and body wash samples from swimming, hurray. Will get some toothpaste samples from dentist tomorrow. I know it sounds tight but these little things help keep our budget down. Already wondering about next months budget but xmas already paid for and lots of nice free activities over the weekends.
Greatful for 1)hub being home- weve had a chilled out evening watching tv and its been lovely.2) baking- as it has been so long since ive had the time, 3) getting to know some of the newer mums and dads at swimming better and 4) seeing my eldests face when he saw his Daddy :happyhear:love:0 -

Haven't posted since Thursday so updating for the last 3 days
Organise - did some batch cooking and baking yesterday for meals and treats this week
Budgets - £159.03/£150 foodcomplete fail and still with 9 days left to go. I feel that £150 for 2 adults seems reasonable but usually struggle. Although I suppose eating gf and df does add on a cost so I might just have to accept that the budget will need increased. £15/£20 social
NSDs - Friday and today were NSDs taking me to 14/20. As well as food shopping yesterday, I spent £31.50 on a card and present for my sister's birthday
Christmas - still not done any sort of proper planning or budget
Exercise - run yesterday, exceeded daily step target every day
Stoptober - was doing well until the baking yesterday
Extra income - completed some surveys and earned around £30 with a shift at 2nd job this evening
Frogs - messaged 3 friends that I haven't seen for ages, have been meaning to do this for weeks but never quite got round to itMortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86
Mortgage overpayment savings - £3.33/£50
Mortgage overpayments so far - £675.980
