  • Hi

New to the Forum though I have been trying to claim charges from GM card. Anybody any experience of them? I made the mistake of first going via an outfit who claimed they could do it all for me, after 3 months of hearing nothing and chasing them with no result, I told them to forget it via their online complaint template. Have written on 21 August to GM for details of charges and still waiting! Two phone calls have confirmed they recieved my letter and that statements should be with me within the week.

  • got the statements after about 2 weeks.
15th Sept wrote to barclays asking for the money
23rd Sept received under a third of my request in credit
24th Sept wrote requesting the rest!

will let everyone know how i get on

    - they paid me the full amount today (though not the statuatory interest). no talk of waiting until 6th October at all! HOORAY! And thanks to MSE/Martin.
  • Just wanting a bit of advice please.

Basically I got into a bit of financial diffuculty 2 years ago. As a result I defaulted on my credit cards. Since then I have set up reduced pmt amounts with the company - My cards are no longer open, Im just repaying the debt
As I was not making the payments/full payments I incurred a lot of charges.

Can I claim these back or am I just gonna rock the boat considering I owe these companies £1000 of pounds?

    Thanks. Any advice greatly appreciated!:A
  • CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED:eek:

I paid my monthly payment to Littlewoods c/card on 24/9 but automated system not working properly and saying could not take payment, so got passed to advisor who adv pass me back to automated system to make payment but still not working and adv to call back in 1 hour. Called back and did make payment and got payment ref, next day found out that system had taken out 2 payment which took me over my overdraft limited. Called Littlewoods and they adv would refund me one of the payments, well today got letter from my bank saying will be charged £35 on 10/10 then another £28 on 31/10:mad: spoke to my bank to explain what happened and they said is Littlewoods fault and would have to get charges back from them.

Called Littlewoods (somewhere in outer mongolia) and advisor saying my account will be credited with £155.52 in next few days this was good news as is my refund for my reclaim of charges, having explained my call was regarding their automated system making me go over my overdraft and now charging me and I want them to pay the charges I was told they would not be paying out for these charges and to refer to my bank:mad:

Another complaint going off to Littlewoods Visa for £63 bank charges, they have refunded my bank account with the extra payment that was taken but it's too late now my bank have charged me.

Sorry for the moan but seems they get you every which way they can -all of them

Any way at least I got my charges back and after 2nd letter.:p

Hi I have been in the same position, we got into financial difficulty about 2/3 years ago - some cards had been sold on to a DMA and two were CCJ's . However we claimed and have received thousands back :rotfl:- You wont rock the boat, and as I see it if they hadn't loaded our cards with charges, we wouldn't of owed them so much money + the interest, so I would definately go for it, it cannot get any worse.
    Good luck

Just wondered if anyone's had any experience of Bank of Scotland? Have just had a reply from them offering about £240 instead of the £625 I claimed, and that's to be credited to the (now closed) account?

I claimed for my Halifax credit card (part of Bank of Scotland) and was offered a £12 difference figure after my first letter (to be credited to my closed credit card) so I responded with a 2nd letter asking for all plus interest else I would commence court proceedings and, as the account was closed, I would like the payment in cheque form. I then followed up with a phone call to check on the progress and days later I was offered all of the money I was claiming, I just needed to sign off the acceptance form which I did.

I have this morning received the cheque from Bank of Scotland and I have deposited it into my curent account.

I say go for it, you have nothing to lose, just remember to use Martin's 2nd letter template saying that you accept their offer without prejudice but as part payment.

BoS made me a limited offer, I refused it, so they offered me the lot. Martin's letters are great!
