Hi Puffy
Did barclaycard say they will be sending you a cheque or crediting your account?
I'va a debt with them that is part of an IVA so am wondering is it worth pursuing if all they are goint to do is credit my debt with the refund?
Thanks in advance for any help from others on this one!
Hi Clanger
They spoke to me on the phone and said they would credit my account, but it cleared it and more so, so they then asked if I would like the remainder transferred to my bank or leave as a credit. I asked for remainder to transfer to bank. As far as I know you can request the payment in any reasonable form you like. So if a cheque is what works best then ask them for that.0 -
just rang Barclaycard and I will be receiving 639.91
originall charges 588.00
2 letters and a phone call over 8 weeks:j0 -
Our mother passed away last September and we were gobsmacked to find out she had debts of £24,000 (the majority of this being bank and credit card charges) we have tried to reclaim them through an unemployment advice centre but we have now been told that to reclaim them we need my mothers signature! Can anyone advise?
We have an estate that is her house valued at £50,000 and we know that we will have to pay something back but begrudge half the value of the house especially when most of the debt is in charges.0 -

So sorry about your Mum. I dont think they can pursue her estate as it is unsecured debt. I would be tempted to send a letter to them all saying she is deceased and that there is no money. They dont need to know about the house. They cant do anything to her now. Hugs to you all as I know how we all love our Mum's. PM me if you want more advice.0 -

AMOUNT RECLAIMED £432-00
AMOUNT PAID £364-00
the story,
sent off 1st template letter requesting statements end september 2008.
response within days, statements sent to me.
added up charges £432-00, sent 2nd letter off with charges list.
they responded in days again, act of goodwill offer of £182-00.
i wrote straight back, threatened court action.
they sent another letter £364-00 offer, i accepted, no hassle of court for a few quid.
it took 2 weeks start to finish, money paid into my account before i even accepted.
don't lose hope all those claiming.
its your money, reclaim it:beer: happy days.
after the others now.
