  • I recently got a letter from HSBC about my claiming credit card charges and they offered me a credit of £30. My letter was from step 3 asking for a min of £60.

They also ask me to sign a letter to say i got the full settlement, my question is does anyone have a template letter i can use to turn down the £30 credit and still get the full £60 as a cheque.

I find it a bit of cheek offering half and expect me to sign a letter to say i got it all.
  • Trying to reclaim money back from Monument for credit card charges- sent details off to FOS, have received a letter today, Firstly saying that my complaint with Barclays!!!! is put on hold because of the bank charges test case!!!!!! Thirdly paperwork sent back is missing a page and page 4 has someone else's signature on it!!!!! Maybe they have a huge workload -
Does anyone know if Monument are the same as Barclays? Have sent an email back to FOS - should I call them - any help would be appreciated:confused:

    Lloyds TSB paying back £358.:rotfl:
    Barclaycard paying back £147 :rotfl:
Waiting to hear from Capital One via FOS and Monument via FOS
GE capital have not responded yet -
just to let everyone know, we have been trying to call Lloyds TSB Card Operations -via a Brighton number which has been unobtainable - this number becomes unobtainable when they have high volume of calls - so keep trying it!!!:o

How easy would you say it is to get CC charges back from Halifax and Barclay card?

I have heard Barclay card can be a right pain?? The total amount will only be a few hundred so not sure I want the hassel....

    Any help would be great

    Cheers

I have done both. My story. Phone the Halifax Customer Relations and asked them for a full list of my charges. They said they would send it out. Very quickly I received a letter not with my charges info but offering me £250 (I think it was) as a goodwill gesture. I phoned up and asked what the charges actually totalled. The girl told me it was £650. I said I'd like the full amount then. She said she would escalate claim. Last Saturday I got a letter to say they were refunding the full £650. So no hassle there just 2 phone calls.

With Barclays I sent them the £10. Got the charges back and they were £140. Sent Letter 1 asking for £140. Got a letter back saying that their charges were lawful etc and they were putting £31 into my account as a goodwill gesture. I wrote back saying thanks for the £31 which I accept as partial settlement but please put the rest in within 14 days or I'll proceed with court action. Got a letter today saying that they were crediting the account with £140 plus 8% interest giving a total of £152. so £152 back for the sake of a couple of stamps.

    Definitely worth claiming.

    advice please!!

I am about to send my letter to request charges and am going to follow this up with a hardship case as i believe i fit the criteria. anyhow back to the question in hand. I have already been told that a single £10 fee will cover both my Halifax current accounts but would it also include my Halifax credit card or would i need to send a separate request and fee??

    cheers

I haven't had much luck with Capital One, I owe them £439.80 , they owe me in charges £776.12 - they offered me £190 and wouldn't budge, so FOS have my complaint, they have requested information from Capital One - and that is as far a its gone - just waiting to hear:o
