I had a further reply from Egg saying that the FSA have stated that as I owe them money the £124 they owe me HAS to be paid to my credit card ... is this correct?

Yes, the company will put the money towards any debt on the credit card.

    Hiya,

I recently wrote to lloyds tsb asking them for 2 charges £24 in total (not alot i know but it would be £24 off another debt) to be refunded, they replied with seeing as my charges were made after they cut the charge amount from twenty something to 12 that i couldnt have any money back and they would leave the case open till september then close it if i did not respond. i am unsure as to what to do regarding this can i still have this money?? if so what do i write in my reply...

And also i have store cards so to claim the PPI and late payment fee's do i just send a copy of the credit card template?? or is there another for store cards and catalogue accounts?

    Thank you x

  • Hi

I have written to MINT to claim back £88 in charges plus interest. They wrote back to me with a cheque for £16 - the difference between two £20 charges I had applied to my account before the cheaper charges came in. I wrote back accepting the £16 without predjudice but still asked for the remainder. I have now had another letter with another cheque enclosed for £1 something - the interest on the £16 already received!

I really want to claim the rest back - what should I do?

I have until the 7th August to reply or they will close my complaint. They said if I write back again and they can't resolve my complaint by then I can take it to the FOS as it will have taken over 8 weeks.

    Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Barclaycard Fees £226.87: Still being hit with overlimit fees due to BC lowering limit
    MINT £101.61: Accepted offer for £95.05! 17/08/08 :T
Abbey: Waiting for list of charges

I have a claim in progress for HSBC, but haven't heard anything for a while, the last letter I recieved was telling me about the test. Is it worth sending a reminder letter or something? If so does anyone have a template?

Submitted a claim to Barclaycard for £667.53 on Monday (statement took 2 weeks to arrive).

Have checked my Card online today & its been credited with £129.60 which by my rough calculations is the £8 difference on the 15 times I was charged £20.

Despite being incredibly impressed with the speed they have done this, I think I may push for more, but maybe offer them a settlement without prejudice of £450 which would give my card a healthy balance :j

Just want to say I love this site. I did my Natwest charges last year & hadnt even considered my Credit Cards until I read all the successes on here. Thanks to Martin & everyone else who puts in so much time & effort:beer:

Sent 1st letter end of April asking for refund of £1900 charges. They responded with an offer of £740 which they credited to my credit card account. I responded, thanking them and saying that I accepted this amount without prejudice to my claim for the full amount, and said that I would be prepared to settle for an additional £1000 (£240 short of original claim). They took their time in getting back to me, and I was just about to send the Ombudsman details - got home from work that night and found letter saying that "as a goodwill gesture" they were refunding the whole of my original claim - just over £1900! Couldn't have wished for a better outcome - credit card account now clear plus some extra money. Now going for Capital One. Don't be deterred - it really is a simple process with this fantastic website's guidance.

    Hi Carolv

Well done on your success with Abbey - just a quick question - what address did you write to?

    Thanks

Write to Barclaycard saying thanks for your offer which you accept as a partial refund and without prejudice. Tell them you want the remaining money (ask for the full amount) in 14 days or you are taking them to court. I did this with Barclaycard and they paid the full amount last week.

I appreciate the response & support. Letter sent today asking for the full amount. Fingers crossed

Hi, I would like to reclaim credit card charges but I have closed the card account (mainly because of them charging me!) I'm not sure if I even have the account details any more. Is it still possible to claim? Can I ask the bank for my account information?
I had a look around and couldn't find the answer to this, sorry if it's already been answered.
Thank you to all who post comps and good luck to all who enter :j
