Hi All
I wrote to Egg to claim £124.86 (incl interest). They wrote back saying No deal, charges are fair etc. So I wrote to them again and they have now written to me offering £124.86 but only if paid to my credit card. I defaulted on the card a while ago and am still paying off the o/s balance. I had requested any monies owed be sent via cheque or bacs. Do I have to have it credited to my credit card?
Hi Melvis
I'm a newbie to this site  but I'm sure I've read on here that you can request for refunded monies to be sent to you via cheque or bacs. Read through some of the other posts and see if there are similar situations.
Otherwise if they insist you have to have it put back on the credit card account won't this help you pay off your o/s standing balance quicker?
Hope I've helped a little! :jBarclaycard PPI £274.84: Currently with FOS
Barclaycard Fees £226.87: Still being hit with overlimit fees due to BC lowering limit
MINT £101.61: Accepted offer for £95.05! 17/08/08 :T
Abbey: Waiting for list of charges0 -
Thanks AquariausAngel,
It's more their re-opening of my closed account that concerns me. I have decided to continue with the process, sending them letter, adding to it my views on them re-opening the account without my consent. So we'll what happens then!
Re your request for statements: it took ages for me to get mine too. A number of weeks after they'd cashed the cheque, so don't worry too much yet. You'll get them in the end, I'm sure!
Let me know what happens!
As for the statment request I did what you said and sent off a final request letter and attached copies of the first letter and my statemnt showing when they cashed my cheque - they've got a cheek haven't they!!Barclaycard PPI £274.84: Currently with FOS

I was offered similar to yourself, I sent the next letter threatening court action but they refused to budge. Passed my case onto FOS who got me 100% of my claim. Took a while but well worth the fight. Hang on in there.0 -
I just got my statements from my HSBC credit card on Thursday and i am a bit stuck on what to do next. I have already caculated the PPI without interest as i didn't know how to do the interest part, i am owed £163.80.
But i also found on it two £20 payments to cardguard which i didn't know i had, do i claim this with the PPI letter i am to send or do I claim it with the Credit card charges which is £63.07 with interest.
I would like to get them sent today, so any advice would be great on this matter.0 -

Hi ninja.
First of all use the interest calculater to work out interest due to you. its really easy to use and does all the maths for you.
The £20 x 2 to cardguard are I am sure the same as ppi so add it into the total.
Hope this helps0 -

Hi there.
I received my letter from fos today telling me they had contacted cap one to either settle in full or give them full info as to why not.
how long did it take you to receive offer from this point?
Thanks0 -
Thanks for the info, I do have one final question. I got a additional letter with the statements that if i have furthur questions to phone them.
Is that letter a normal letter people get, Should i just phone them to get the PPI & charges or just send the letters.
for the PPI i am using the salesperson was very pushy, which i felt i could not say no. So which documents do i have to send for this with it as indicated on martins guide.0 -

I have refused to talk to people on the phone and done everything by letter (recorded delivery). I have a fear that they will try and trick me into saying something i shouldnt. Then they have it on tape. There has only been one company phone me and i told them i was leaving for a meeting at school and never picked up to them again.lol.
I know everyone different so just telling how I did it0
