    good luck! :o

Thanks, I've printed my first letter to Egg today and have requested they send me a cheque and not credit any monies owed to me to my credit card but just wanted to check as the card has now been sent to a debt collection agency.

Hello - I could do with some help please????

Last year I managed to get just over £5000 in bank charges back from LTSB over 2 accounts which I was more than happy with via MCOL - all thanks to Martin

At the moment I am claiming almost £500 back from a LTSB credit card that I no longer have (since June 2006) I have written the standard letters to LTSB and this time have decided to use the FOS to get it back, I have had a letter from the FOS saying they have written to LTSB asking them to issue their final response to me within14 days (giving them until 17th June) and I will hear back from the FOS upon receipt of a final response or when the 14 days expires.

Is this a normal thing to do? I know that LTSB are complete nightmares and thay they will do anything to not pay you back but am soooo not scared of them now after getting a HUGE victory over them on the current accounts but have not used the FOS before and don't know what to expect.

If anyone can offer any help/advice/reassurance it would be appreciated.....

Can I still reclaim my over limit/late charges if I've defaulted on the credit card and there's still a balance outstanding?

hiya well now i know the answer! yes you can! i've had my first offer off Barclaycard today offering me £372.00 of the £1312.83 that i asked for which is the difference between the charges I occured and the current £12 fee, plus 8% interest.

so I'm going to the Financial Ombudsman to help me get the lot back because i was getting charged for going over my credit limit but the only reason i was going over my limit was because they kept on adding charges! i wasn't spending a penny!!! (i was just late sending payments! oops! :naughty: )

so go for it and good luck
A MASSIVE Thanks to all you fantastic people who post the comps and answers:beer: :T

    CRAZY!!!

Right, here is the timeline of events (HSBC credit card)

    1) sent letter requesting repayment of £162.98 (£136 charges + £26.98 interest)
    2) got declined
    3) sent second letter threatening court action and saying I would accept a settlement without interest.
    4) got an offer of £75.50, which HSBC claimed was a 50% reduction in fees (hmm)
    5) £75.50 got paid into my account
    6) Sent a third letter saying I intend to claim the rest of the money through the courts (£87.48)
    7) Got a third letter saying they would agree to pay a further £184.10!!!!

So this means I claimed £162.98, and they are paying me £259.60, crazy.

I havent had the second payment yet but it took a few days last time, will keep you posted.:money:

After totalling up my Barclaycard fees for the last six years i sent them the letter claiming it all back.

Total amount claimed was £493 inc interest.

Checked my card statement just now and for some reason they have paid me
£144 in late payment fees and £11.52 in interest...credited to my account.

Not sure how they came about these figures but hopeflly something in the post soon ?

    Hi Darren,

I had the same thing with barclaycard. Payment went in my account on 29th may. got letter on june 5th.

After reading some of the threads regarding barclaycard I have written back accepting the amount as a part payment towards full amount and asked them to pay remainder of claim or I will take to court. dont forget you have to state "Without prejudice" on your letter though.

the other people who say they have done this have received full settlement.

Just a note though. barclaycard dont pay 8% interest from date of charge they pay 8% interest of total balance.

I've been claiming from capital one for £220 plus interest.
Today I have received a letter offering £136 as a good will payment plus £10 for any interest that may have occured.
Would you snap their hands off and head for the hills or would you ask for an increase in the interest repayment?

  • Hi

This has probably been asked a million times. But Barclays has just made me an offer, however I want to try for the full amount. I know I have to mention without prejudice when I write to them, however is there a template letter for this anywhere?

    Thanks
