    hiya all

anyone had any results in claiming back these admin charges from ambrose wilson , and also what about argos they have charges of 12.00 for late payments, also the other one ive come accross is clsydesdale who have charged me 22.50 and ive just found also that hfc charged me 15.00 for late payment too

as they are not normal credit cards as such, just wanted to clarify with you knowledgeable people, many thanks

Ciao for now off to do my letter for barclaycard, even though im doing my own dmp or trying to with barclaycard, they might at least reduce my balance with the refund, and then i can clear the debt a bit quicker too,

Ciao for now have a fun day laters, MAZ

Today I have received my SAR fron Capital One. There are late payment charges for £180 and £40 over the limit charges plus payment protection each week that I never realised I even had.
I am going to reclaim the late payment charges but can I claim the overlimit charges also?
Considering I didnt know about the ppi can I reclaim that too?

Yes you can claim overlimit charges too - these are the only two charges you can claim.

Pop over to PPI board and you can find out how to claim it back too

    Good luck!

    Hi there

18th Feb 2008 Wrote requesting details of charges applied to my account
16th Mar 2008 Received full break down of charges applied.
31st Mar 2008 Wrote requesting CO to repay £774 plus interest - £1105.75
7th Apr 2008 CO offered £208 goodwill payment
11th Apr 2008 I replied saying I accepted the offer without prejudice but stated that I intended to pursue my claim for the full amount plus interest.
24th Apr 2008 CO replied saying it would take some time to review.
14th May 2008 Final offer letter saying they would oly pay £208.
5th May 08 Filed a claim with the Financial Ombudsman
14th May 2008 Once again told Capital One that I would accept their offer without prejudice.

    Today, 27th May

Received another letter from Capital One stating that they are unwilling to budge and their final offer is £208.

I still haven't received the £208 which I have agreed to accept without prejudice.

Should I leave it in the hands of the Financial Ombudsman now? Do i chase up the £208 payment in the meantime

    Please advise

    Hi There,

I am in a similar situation to Jo, but have not decided which route to take yet as I am in Scotland. The small claims court here has a maximum claim level of £750. I have been offered £210, but have claimed £1200. I think that I can go to the small claims in Nottingham but I knowI cannot use the Moneyclaim service.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi

I wonder whether any of you's have tried to reclaim charges from Barclays Partner Finance (previously Clydesdale Financial Services)?

I have just received a reply saying that their charges have been agreed with the Office of Fair Trading since 1 April 2008, and that they are not obliged to backdate these charges. Is this the kind of standard letter they send to put you off?

The thing is this card only had £5.00 balance on it, which I completely forgot about and in the end I had to pay over £400.00 for all the charges they had added.

    Thanks for your help
  • I originally sent a letter to Halifax on 15th May 2008 with a list of all my charges which totalled £1140 plus interest of £326.87.
They have just sent me a letter advising me they are declining my complaint and will only be willing to offer me £554.
Should I accept this or send the second letter advising I am not happy with the response and I will start Court Action? Please help, as I am not happy with the offer, but need advice from anyone else who had the same response from Halifax!

    Hello Guys,

Just received a letter from Halifax after my second letter requesting them to repay my charges. They have put......

They would like to offer me £156.00. whilts not agreeing with the analaysis of default fees in the office of fair tradings statement in April 2006, neverless we reduced thses fees to £12 with the effectt from 1st August 2006. Therefore a guesture of good will this offer is equal to the difference between the amount you were originally charged and £12.

Has anyone had this before and should i continue with the 3rd letter and request the full amount??

Also they say in the letter that interest will not be refunded?

    thanks,

    Sue
