Sue i got the same from Mint and GE. Went through the FOS and i am awaiting a cheque from Mint for the full amount (£384 ish). Havent heard from GE yet but still need to send in my complaints form. If it were me i would say thanks but no thanks. Accept it as partial settlement without prejudice (very important) and go for the rest.
    Good luck!

    Hiya,

Just thought I'd celebrate by telling everyone. I was claiming back £87 from Vanquis and they just offered me £145. Yey!

    Hello,

I have recently started my reclaimings with Barclays, Barclaycard and Capital One.

So far I have received a reply from Barclaycard offering £168 plus 8% interest out of £450 which I have claimed. The money offered by Barclaycard is the difference from the charge applied to my account and the £12 established by the OFT.
I would like to know if other people have been in the same situation and also, do you think I should just take their offer or take it further and try to get all the money back?

Help, as I've said am new and not too sure what I shall do.

    Thanks:confused:

Hi baby81 - I had the partial refund letter from Barclaycard, and accepted their partial offer without prejudice. However, in my letter I told them that I would go to court for the full amount.

Got a letter from Barclaycard approx 10 days later saying "we don't agree our charges are unfair, but we'll refund you the full amount"

So, I'd say keep going and stand firm.

One thing to note - Barclaycard refund interest, but it is 8% of the total claimed, not 8% of each charge.

    Good luck!

    hi,

Wondering if anyone can give me some advise.

I wrote to capital one requesting they pay back charges totalling £548 + £91.31 interest (total £639.31) offering me £160 plus £10 interest. They said this was the difference when reduced to a £12 fee.

I turned them down threatening to take them to court. they have written back still offering the same amount and saying this is their final response.

My question is:- Can I write to them and accept without prejudice but still tell them I am taking further action to recover remainder or do I have to take to court as I have had a final response?

Hi guys, first post so be gentle......:p

I have received a good will gesture from Halifax but you like to continue with my claim for the full amount? Is there a template for accepting their partial offer "without prejudice"? or do you just need to put and extra line into letter 2?

    Many Thanks
