Owtfornowt yes you can reclaim these. If you still have your cc be aware the amount you reclaim will more than likely be added to your card and reduce your balance but you will still be benefiting azs your debt will be reduced. If your account is settled you should receve the payment by cheque/bank transfer.

    Hope this helps

Thanks. No i dont still have my credit card as the HSBC sold the debt to a collection company so they now own the debt. Will the amount be ataken off the amount i owe the collection company?

owtfornowt i think that it will be taken off your existing balance. Like i said though it will still benefit you because it will reduce the amount you owe. However as it is HSBC you will be claiming from (even though the debt was sold) they may send you a cheque but i am not certain. Your best bet would be to get the ball rolling, ask for your statements etc and see what happens.

    hey guys
Anyone dealt with HSBC credit card reclaiming before?

HSBC charged me £136 so I asked for £163 (interest added)
    Got a declined letter.
Sent a second letter threatening court action.
Got a letter offering £75 to settle:T, they advised going to FOS if I am unhappy.

Has anyone gone further with HSBC?

Masseeh just wanted to say congrats on at least getting a response from them!! I have sent the letters (and threatened court action!) and i havent even got a reply! Going to call them now i think. I would go to the FOS if i were you. i have called them about GE and Mint and they were more than helpful.

  • Hi, can anyone help me? I followed Martins steps to reclaim bank charges by calling the credit card company and asking for my statements. Martin states they can not charge more than £10 to do so.

However when I rang MBNA they quoted me £4 per individual statement I require.
Is this lawfull? and if so is there a way around it???

(internet banking allows you to go back 1 year but I require several more years worth)!
