Has anyone else had their limit lowered after recieving refund?? Barclaycard have lowered my limit by £150!! No letter, no email, no call they just lowered it, only found out by chance when i logged onto my account. I couldn't switch providers as I was declined :(

Yes, this happened with my Sainsburys Bank Visa. My credit limit changed from £400 to £100 and they didn't tell me. I found out after calling them to find out why I couldn't use my card. Grrr! Probably a blessing in disguise though!

well have heard from mint today. they are not going to pay me my money at all apart from the amount they have agreed which is the difference between the £20 and £12 charges. So im going to either file a claim with the FOS or MCOL but im not sure which one is best? Any ideas?

i just got the same letter from cap one - i asked for £1k + £500 interest.

They offered: £400 + £30 interest (shocking interest there!!!! should be more than that)

really not sure what to do next, if i ask for more am i at risk of them refusing to pay what they offered me in the first place? very confused. do i sent the 3rd 'without prejudice' letter? really dont want them to change their mind and go 'nah, you're getting nothing now' but i think 2/3 of what i requested sucks

Accept the £430 'without prejudice' and ask for the rest - you have nothing to lose!
    RMC

PS Just for my own reclaim - did the amount claimed include £12 charges
    LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.
    (CC/LOAN = [STRIKE]36,378.98[/STRIKE] 35668.47. O/D = [STRIKE]1255.32[/STRIKE] 1212.35/[STRIKE]1999.78[/STRIKE] 1934.52, BUS = [STRIKE]9769.76[/STRIKE] 8714.98)
    Challenge = Debt at 31/01/12 = £25k. 2011 Payments = £1,944.19/£24,403.84

i've sent a response back, the without prejudice one saying i'll accept £1400 instead of £1500 i asked for, otherwise going to court. prob a bit much but y'know. dont wanna go court route tho :( think i'll go FO if it come back saying no. court sounds scary!!!

  • Hi,
I used the first template letter to ask for credit card charges back from Barclays, which go back to 2002!
But I have had no reply after prob 3-4weeks, what should I do if I haven't even had a reply?? As the reclaiming guide only has info on if the bank comes back to you and won't pay!!
Should I just send the letter again??

I had 5 credit cards but, through no fault of my own, could not keep up payments on them and had numerous charges. I have since had to take out a loan to pay these cards off because of the threats of court actions. My problem is that I have got rid of the cards and all statements i had so I do not know the account details to enable me to claim charges back. Does anyone have any advice for me on how I proceed?
  • Hi

Could anyone advise me on the following please.

I have a 0% purchases Mastercard with Halifax for 'stoozing' purposes. I was nearing the limit on this card but my wife went out shopping and bought something that took me over my credit limit. As a result, Halifax have said they are charging me interest on my entire balance and are withdrawing the 0% deal with immediate effect.

What I'm really interested in though is why they allowed a payment to take me over my credit limit without either refusing the payment or checking with me first. Have they acted fairly in this respect?

    Thanks

I was wondering if anybody has any contact telephone numbers for the Royal Bank of Scotland, card customer services team in Sothend-on-sea. I complained to through the fos regarding bank charges but have not yet heard anything from them. I thought if i gave them a call to see what was happening might speed them along. This is what i done when i claimed back my bank charges and seemed to work, however i don't have that number any more.

    Thanks in advance
