    Can anyone help me?
I have recieved letters from MBNA which yes they replyed within the 14 days but they have put that they are investigating the claimand they will provide me with a full response by the 03 April 2008.
I am actually claiming for 2 credit cards that come to above £1200 plus the interest, but these are cards that I am paying off by CCCS, could this be the reason they are are investigating the claim?
    Please can someone help me
    Thank You

Its unlikely to have anything to do with the fact that you are paying this debt via CCCS. Do be aware any monies reclaimed will go towards the debt on the cards but as this will reduce the amount owed it will be all to the good.

Hi. I'm new to the site and have looked to see if I can claim for late payment charges on my Barclaycard Business credit card. I couldn't see anything about this. Can anyone help?

    Many thanks.

Yes you can just send out the template letter in Martin's article.

i have a card with beneficial and am almost up to the limit of £11,500 which i am paying off albeit it slowly at the moment
the problem i have is the fact that i am paid monthly and this is sometimes 2 or 3 days before the payment is due which doesnt give enough time to get the payment in - even though i pay using online banking
i then get hit with a £12 late payment charge
i have NEVER missed a payment with them and the most my payment has been late is 2 days
do i have a case for claiming these charges back ?

Thanks in advance for any reply

  • Hi All,
I wondered if someone would be able to give me advice. I am currently helping my dad sort out his debts. The majority are on credit cards, 1 of which has recently taken him to court and another is threatening it. However, would it still be advisable to try and reclaim the charges he has incurred on these accounts or would it be likely this will make the companies that have agreed to nominal payments to suddenly demand payments in full?
He has received HUGE amounts of charges which would help lower the amounts he owes to these companies but I am worried this may stop them being reasonable!!
Any advice would be hugely appreciated!!!!!
Also, all the credit cards are now in th hands of debt collection agencies, is that a problem? Or would we still write directly to the credit card companies?

You could try claiming but i have seen on these forums that some credit card companies are putting the int rate up?! so is it worth it on a debt to the value of £11k? you may end up paying more back in increased interest.

I had the same problem with my credit cards - paying them late because i was paid a few days after the due date meaning the payment was always late......................i then found out you could actually change the statement date. so i did that and haven't had a late payment since. Worth a try.

  • As a newbie still finding my way around the board, can I ask a couple of really basic questions? (I know if I looked for the answers I would find them here somewhere, but I am a bit overwhelmed by the sheer volume of posts and information)

Is it the charge for late payments we can reclaim for?

If it is, why are CC companies still enforcing late payment charges as well as interest?

Apologies as I know this must have been covered before!
