    Hi all

I currently have a Debt Management Plan with the CCCS.

Am I able to still claim unfair charges from the credit card companies?

If I do claim - would it affect my DMP?

Any replies or advice would be gladly welcomed :j :j

You can but do be aware that is is likely that any monies reclaimed will be put towards any debt on the cc but of course this will reduce the debt you owe.

Hi , Can anyone tell me if I can reclaim 3 x Arrears Charge of £15 each, from my GE Money QVc Card. Were applied in Apr May & Sept 2006.
These don't seem to be listed in the what can/can't be claimed.
    Thanks:confused:

I'd say an arrears charge is their term for late payment so yes.

I have had an offer from barclaycard and they are willing to refund the full charges (552.00)They are advising that they will credit my account, but as I no longer use this account I would like a cheque. What is my next course of action to ensure i get a cheque. Thanks.

You can ask for the cheque but if there is still a debt on the account they will more than likely credit your account.

    Hi there,
Can some one tell me, if i want to reclaim charges from a credit card, and i have still got an outstanding balance, can they then demand that i pay this off.

I am not in a position to pay this debt off at moment, however i do believe they owe me probably a considerable amount in charges, im just worried that they just get revenge and deman di pay the full balance off

    thanks folks:money:

also meant to ask, if i cancelled ppi o a credit card just last week can i still claim?

Its unlikely they will do this but any monies they may refund will be paid towards the amount you owe on the card.

Has anybody had any luck claiming from Beneficial Finance?

Sent a letter on the 3rd March asking for £490.00 to be refunded. They replied on the 4th March with a straight NO basically!

Have just sent a letter advising i'll be taking court action - but the whole thought of that actually happening scares me!

If a debt has been sold to a DCA then will the amount you win be passed to them as technically they have brought the debt off the company? Thanks
  • My hubbie was one of the many that had their account closed by Egg, infact technically it closed yesterday. He has it in writing that he only needs to make the minimum payment until the balance is paid off in full. I have already requested statements (and have received them) for his account. If he requests his charges back (£572) can they force him to pay back the total balance in full - £3000  Or will he still be able to pay the minimum.
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

I have both a bank account and a credit card with Natwest. Last year I got 2 x £12 overlimit charges.

Is it worth trying to claim these back?

Will taking on Natwest credit cards put my bank account with Natwest at risk in any way (i.e. could they close or freeze it as I am being a "difficult customer"?

    Thanks

I have just been slapped with another £12 change bringing the total to £36.

Are NatWest difficult to take on or do they pay out fairly easily?

    Cheers
  • Just received an offer from Goldfish and they've asked me to sign a form saying various things, including a confidentiality clause. Has anyone else had his? There's no way I'm going to sign it. If they want my silence they'll have to buy it.
  • Hiya all, Just after a bit of advise really, i have sent a letter of to Barclaycard, reclaim £480 of unlawful charges + 8% interest on top. They have replied, saying out of a good will gesture they will pay me £192 odd + 8 % interest. Do you think i would be able to get the full amount from them?

    Thanks
