    hi

yes you can claim charges for late payment which your credit card company has charged you for thepast 6 years.

you can also claim for PPI (payment protection insurance) if you took this out with any loans, or credit cards,

for full instructions see the article on this website

    col
its only a bargain, if you need it or will use it.

  • hello,

I wrote requesting statements for 12 credit cards on the 17th Feb.

Only 2 have sent statements so far. 40 days seem like such a long long time.

I have wrote to the 2 credit card companies asking for a full refund.

    A&L £519
    Beneficial finance £490

If i get the above amounts this will help get me out of debt. Fingers crossed.........i'm fed up of paying 1/4 of my salary every month in getting me out of debt - but i never actually seem to be getting any where.

    Hi there,
Can some one tell me, if i want to reclaim charges from a credit card, and i have still got an outstanding balance, can they then demand that i pay this off.

I am not in a position to pay this debt off at moment, however i do believe they owe me probably a considerable amount in charges, im just worried that they just get revenge and deman di pay the full balance off

    thanks folks:money:

also meant to ask, if i cancelled ppi o a credit card just last week can i still claim?
  • I have had an offer from barclaycard and they are willing to refund the full charges (552.00)They are advising that they will credit my account, but as I no longer use this account I would like a cheque. What is my next course of action to ensure i get a cheque. Thanks.

Hi - do it! I have successfully claimed full amount (£756) with interest from MBNA cc. I am on DMP too so have been paying reduced figure for 4 years with no additional interest - although the MBNA debt was still with MBNA and not sold on - I don't think it should make any difference. They will probably pay the reclaimed charges off your outstanding debt , but that is not bad - it at least reduces what you owe. For me this has reduced my MBNA outstanding debt by half and they have not booted me off the arranged payment plan. I am now after the PPI too - this will totally clear my debt with them (fingers and toes crossed).

Just note - after your first letter they will come back with a reduced offer. Then send 2nd letter saying you will accept as part payment but still want the full amount. They will then right back very long winded blah blah letter, but agreeing to pay full charges with interest. (Well at least that is how it has worked out for me).

    Remember:

Go for full charges with interest.
    Don't accept first offer

I didn't have to go to FOS or MCOL the letters worked just great (thanks to Martin and the advise from the forum regulars).

    Best of luck!!!

  • Hi all

I currently have a Debt Management Plan with the CCCS.

Am I able to still claim unfair charges from the credit card companies?

If I do claim - would it affect my DMP?

Any replies or advice would be gladly welcomed :j :j
