Hi, there is a second letter for just this situation. It is just below the first one on the claim pages on the front of the site. I used the second letter, and I got success. Good luck:beer:Sorry, forgot to say, if you scroll up the page it says 'start here' on a red button, just on the right of that is the 2nd letter template

  • Hi, Quick Question.

If you have been charged £12 for going over your account, can you claim this back?

I have written to MINT using the templates. I have sent letter 1 and 2 so far and been fobbed off? They say there hasn't been any charges to my account over £12 so I will not be getting my money back =|

Please advise my next step and will I be able to get this back?

    thanks
  • Can anyone tell me if banks have to keep details of your account, i.e. be able to produce statements, for a certain amount of time by law?

My husband recently requested details of 2 credit cards he held with Barclaycard to see if he had any changes he could claim back and they have written back to say that they cant trace his account. He provided them with full name, current and previous addresses, date of birth and date both accounts were opened and closed (although he doesnt have account numbers). Can they really wriggle out of it by saying they cant locate his account details?

    Thanks in advance!

Hi, lm not a 100% sure you need one of the experts really but from what l've learnt and read on this site l think they should keep records for six years, well thats how far back you can claim.
    Hope this helps.

    Hello,
It's been ages since I last tuned in. I still am at the stage where my citi card is stayed with the courts from last august.
I have been searching this site to see if there are any template letters that I can use to lift the stay, but have been unsuccessful.
Please help, the court refused to lift the stay when I sent in an N244 request.
    Any advice PLEASE!!!!
  • You can claim back any late payments and/or over limit fees but be aware any monies reclaimed will go towards any debt held by the bank, this of course will reduce the debt you owe them.

    Hi,

I have previously defaulted on my Barclaycard account, but have since paid of a percentage of the balance (80%) which was accepted in full and final settlement. The account has now been closed and shows as Settled on my credit report.

If I made a successful charges claim, would they still be allowed to offset the value against the balance, even though my payment was accepted in Full and Final Settlement?

Any thoughts would be appreciated... don't want to waste my time claiming if they'll only keep the money!

    Thanks

    Rebecca
  • I have spoken to the FSO and as it is a claim for compensation you can request the payment in any form i.e. cheque or offset against your balance.

If the company takes it on themselves to offset against the balance, I was advised to refer the case to the FSO.
