Credit Card Reclaiming Discussion

Hi
I am starting the ball rolling to claiming my credit card charges back but in the meantime I want to shift all my debt onto a 0% balance transfer card. Can I still attempt to claim back the credit card charges if I have transferred the debt to another card or should I wait until I get a response? I would rather just transfer all now but do not want to stop my chances of being able to claim anything back.
Also, can I shift my partner's debts onto my 0% balance transfer credit card? I pay these cards but they are in her name. Or do I need to get a 0% balance transfer card in her name and just pay them off that way?
Any advice gratefully received

Hello there,
I'm feeling quite overwhelmed over all the different ways the credit cards are describing their fees. Halifax One has late payment fees, overlimit fees and returned payment fees, all at £12.
Is it possible to claim any of these back? Thank you, yours, very overwhelmed...lol
you can claim them all back if they are penaties and I would interpreted all of these as penalties charges0 -
I am currently trying to reclaim charges including late payments fees and PPI on about 6 cards that my OH has held over the years. All have been rejected and have been with the Ombudsman since September 2011.
Just received this from the FOS, regarding OPUS"Unfortunately, it does not appear we can investigate your complaint about Cumberland Insurance Limited (Life Assurance) because it appears that the events you complain about took place on a date before it became covered by our service.
Having looked at the information you have supplied to me, it would appear that your complaint relates to events that took place in 1998. At this time Cumberland Insurance Limited was not a member of the General Insurance Standards Council or the FOS."
Gutted...am hoping that as we haven't heard anything regarding the other claims, that they might have a more positive outcome!0 -
Hi all - Apologies if this is a silly question (I'm new) I have read a lot of information but cant really find a specific answer to my question. I would like to claim back credit charges on a closed Monument credit card I had some years ago. I was charged a considerable amount in charges but this was some years ago. My question is does the 6 years commence from the date of claim or can I claim back 6 years prior to the OFT publishing their report into credit card charges on April 5th 2006? If I can do this how do you argue this with a credit card company, as the template letters seem only to refer to charges from the date you ask for a list of charges?
Hope all that made sense would really appreciate some help0 -
I have asked Egg if they can give me a copy of my Credit Agreement. The account is closed. They've replied saying that as the account is closed they do not have to provide me with the Credit Agreement - is this true or are they trying to fob me off?
The same has happened to my father in law - he wrote to Northridge Finance Ltd and they said the same.
Any tips or guidance would really be appreciated.
Regards

6 years from date of your claim but you could try asking for charges before as well and see what happens. My interpretation is that, because it didn't come to light until OFT 2006 statement that credit card charges were too high, the 6 year rule became inoperable however most banks will argue black's white about this.
Sometimes people have been lucky and got further than 6 yrs. Some have not been lucky at all and got nothing. However nothing ventured etc....0 -

hiya everyone.
even tho bank charges changed after 2006, and most banks reduced there charges to £12, and this was ok'd by the OFT, how can we still be able to claim these £12 charges back that have been made to our credit cards? as stated in martin web page, if the banks have been told, that they are ok to charge us these fee's for being late, or going over our limit etc0 -

Because, as Martin's site states and because claimants also feel, the charge of £12 per offence is still too high.
