Hi there and firstly congrats to all who have made a claim and been successful on these.
I am looking for some help. I have had a number of charges (each of £32) made to an account I took out mainly due to problems being encountered during that time. Is there anything I can do to try and get these back, have tried to search on the site and the forums for advice regarding this but with no joy.
Any help would be gratefully accepted.0 -
you can send a postal order or banker draft to cover the payment for the information request0

MBNA have rejected my claim for CC charges. I'll write them one more letter, telling them to reconsider before I go to FOS and send them copies of the statements I have. Cheating stealing morons.0

Hi
so MBNA have upheld my PPI claim which is great, however there are also many overlimit charges which were caused by the mis selling of the PPI, do I have a case for claiming back the CC charges too?
ThanksMBNA Upheld £20,663.63 2/11/11, cheque recieved 25/11/11 :j
Capital One Upheld 11/11/11 £2793.21 cheque recieved 2/12/11 :j
Santander rejected by them 11/11/11, counter rejected by me 17/11/11. x2 letters advising they need another 4 weeks and then another rejection:rotfl:0 -
thank you andy, dam, has anyone had any luck off halifax with £12 charges? is it worth taking them to court for £300 off charges - just after a few opinions really thank you
After Halifax refused to refund any £12 charges to my Aqua card, I sent them a LBA letter and asking them to re-consider or its off to court we go. A couple of weeks later a letter arrived with the full amount asked and 8%. Don't take their first no as a final answerWage Day Advance, Quick Quid, Pounds to Pocket and Pounds Till Payday....i'm after you0 -
Thats good news joncow. Unfortuantely HAlifax have still declined my request despite sending them an LBA. I thought I would try the FOS first before Court but that was unsuccesful. So it looks as though the Court is my next move. Olly have you made any decision yet ? It looks a fairly straightforward process, my only worry is if we were to lose we would have to pay HAlifaxs costs. Does anybody know how much they are likely to be ?0

so, finally got two replies from lloyds and barclaycard regarding my PPI reclaim
lloyds - sent two letters, one saying they will respond in 3 weeks (cheeky mares are already on their second letter) and another waffling on about how the £12 charges are fair...I wasnt requesting a refund of charges as a) I dont have any with that card and b) I was talking about my PPI insurance, a completely different charge altogether!!
Barclaycard - latched on to point 1 of 5 where I said I didnt recall having a choice for PPI. They say as I signed up online (it was so long ago I wasnt sure what was shown to me, hence leaving that bullet point in the claim letter) I was apparently fully aware and as due to this they cannot uphold my claim. So they are brushing past the other 4 complaints, one of which even says 'I felt my application would only be successful if I took out PPI'
They ignored the last 4 and say they will not enter into any further discussion - has anyone wrote back to a company who said the same thing and have they infact been ignored? or is it jut a scare tactic?
am still waiting for feedback off my other 3 card claims so lets hope I have more luck with them else the ombudsman will be very busy with my complaints0 -
I wrote to Barclaycard on the 24th October 2001, under section 78 for a true signed executed copy of my credit agreement.
All they sent me was a reconstituted copy which did not have my name address or signature, and a copy of their terms and conditions.
What do I do as they have not provided me what I asked for?0 -
Hello
I am about to send my letter to reclaim the 6 years of charges on my Barclaycard. It says on this web-site that I may also add interest on the charges.
What are peoples views on this?
Have you done it and succeeded in getting the interest paid?
Will it hinder my claim? Obviously I don't want to go to court, as a simple settlement is what I am looking for.
Any advice would be great, thanks.0 -

i would allows include the interest as the banks gernally pay if you play a patience game. You are entiltled to the stautory interest if you go to court and ulimately thats you entiltlement if a judgement is made, the banks wouldnt go that far. Ive reclaimed from LLoyds (raised court papers and they paid with interest) and Barclaycard who paid + interest on the third three letters.0
