you will most likely have to pay for copies of your statements but by following advise at the start of this thread you should be able to at least TRY and claim back your PPI0

guys are £12 charges recoverable or not? thanks in advance0

I have written to these 2 companies to ask for my credit agreement.
I sent them a letter on the 24th October 2011.
I understand that there is a 12 day rule and if they don't produce an agreement then they are in default.
They have until the 9th November to return these agreements.
What is the next step please if they don't send me my agreement within 12 days?
Thanks!!0 -

Legally no, £12 is the agreed cost to the banks for fees etc. Anything above that you can reclaim, plus interest. However, some banks are refunding the £12. I had 3x£12 back off Barclaycard last month. Egg on the other hand wouldn't pay me back the £12.0 -
hey guys - quick question (apologies if its been answered but there are a LOT of topics/articles to fish through
I'm about a week away from the deadline for hearing back on my first PPI complaint; are there any template letters I can send now as a reminder in hopes of getting a response?
Would much rather re-print everything, and resend before the deadline in hopes it may light a fire under certain bums as the deadline is so close.
thanks in advance
Be easier and quicker to call them and remind them.0 -
Hi, not sure if I'm posting in right area. I have a First Direct Credit card whic h I cleared & stopped using last year. Looking back I see I have a 'Balance Protector Premium charge', is this the same as PPI and if so can I claim as I don't remember being sold it.
Thanks if anyone can advise
Certainly sounds like PPI.0 -

thank you andy, dam, has anyone had any luck off halifax with £12 charges? is it worth taking them to court for £300 off charges - just after a few opinions really thank you0 -
Hi well the Ombudsmen wrote back to me to say that Halifax are not entitled to refund me any charges even the £25 ones as the evidence they have been provided with from HAlifax states that these are fair. I need to sit down and read the letter thoroughly though before contemplating my next move. In the meantime, I am also still deciding what to do next with Capital one and their offer of £58 in response to my claim of £1100. If anybody has any advice it would be greatly appreciated please.
Oh I am also in the process of trying to reclaim PPI from Black Horse, a small amount, only about £78, they have advised they will respond within 12 weeks of my original request, so I am hoping to hear just after Xmas on that one.
Three MBNA cards, Natwest and goodness knows what else is lurking to try and pursue now !0 -
that cant be right surely the £25 charges arent fair with halifax - whats your next move then?0

I really dont know. There were only about three £25 charges plus interest, the rest were all £12. I am sitting here re reading the letter from the FOS now but its all a bit mumbo jumbo to me. Any suggestions greatly appreciated ! Have you made any decision on your next move yet and the £12 charges?0
