Just a quick question - I have a credit card and a loan with Egg. If I claim back the charges on my credit card will they make me pay the loan back?
Thanks in advanceSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
They are separate contracts so your loan should be okay provided you have kept your loan account in "good order".0

Thanks for the reply will give it a go but stress to them want payment to me not debt collector- one which happens to be a solicitors firm -never knew they collected debts
good luck with HALIFAX
You can ask but generally any monies reclaimed will go towards any debt held by the bank/DCA. This will of course help reduce any debt you have with the bank.0 -

After I claimed back my charges from the bank, one of my mates has asked me to help him out.
Basically he owed hfc bank around 5.5k which is he tells me is nearly all charges. He pays them £20 a month as advised by cccs which should have stopped the charges and interest. However, he has now had a letter from debt collectors demanding 7k from him or they will put a charge on his property. He has contacted them and said he will be disputing the charges etc but what I need to know is what is the quickest way to get the claim in so that the debt collectors wil be off his back while it all goes through the process.
Any help will be appreciated.
BarrieI would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.0 -
Your friend needs to go back to CCCS if he has a DMP with them and ask them or CAB for advice. A payment plan will not necessarily stop charges and interest and interest can be restarted at any time.
There is no quick way to put in a claim other than follow the guide in Martin's article.0 -

I would send one letter with all four account numbers as I did with GE Money for 2 seperate cards in their name. Only one £10 cheque as this covers all accounts held with creation. Good luck!0
