Hi All - I have had a letter from Tesco Personal Finance saying that they are willing to pay me £146.73 as a goodwill gesture and that charges are clearly stipulated in the original credit card agreement, this is their final offer.

Does anyone else have any experience of Tesco? Should I accept their offer - which is the difference between the permitted £12 and the charges that had been made over the years? Or do I hold out for the full charges returned?

    Advice needed, please.

Recieved a letter from Halifax credit card, they are offering me £372.00 and have said they WILL NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES refund interest:rolleyes: My total claim amount with the credit card is in my sig below. It's a big difference between the total amount they owe. They also said they decline my complaint and that the £372.00 is a gesture of goodwill:rolleyes: Should I take the money, or, what should my next step be?

    Thank you:money:

If a similar question to this has been answered before, I apologise but I couldn't find it.

How do I get a DCA to stop contacting me while I reclaim charges from capital one. If I can get the charges repaid to my dead account, I will only owe about £50.

Yes is the simple answer. You can reclaim charges dating back six years! If you dont have the statements you can request these from the financial institution that you were with. A recommended admin fee for this is £10, but should be no more. If you are sucessful you can even re-claim the tenner! Good Luck!

I think that I posted this in the wrong place before, Sorry......Anyway,

Can anyone advise as to wether it is possible to claim back the new £12 lower credit card fees that are applied to accounts exceeding the credit limit? This is still an un-reasonable sum and as Martin states it only actually costs the bank a couple of pounds for extra admin work associated with going over their credit limit.
    Thank you in anticipation. kw:beer:

I think I put my last post in the wrong place so here I go again !!! I recently asked for my credit card charges back roughly about £1,000 with intrest and yesterday I received a letter from my Bank (bank of Scotland) saying they did not agree with my complaint because when I took out the card I signed an agreement to their terms and conditions but as a good-will gesture they are willing to give me £350, have I got the right to get all my charges back is this just a staling tac-tic from the banks until the courts have decided if the charges are unfair how do I go about claiming all my charges back or do I now need to threaten them with court action

I'm a bit confused  Can you claim credit card charges if you clear your bill every month, or is it just for the people that don't pay and end up getting heavily in to debt because of these unfair charges? Probably a daft question :o but it's been bugging me for ages now, as although the bill's paid regular the CC charges are still quite high.

Anyone who receives charges on their credit card can claim for late payment or overlimit fees. Hope this answers your question. Mine was cleared and closed and I still applied.Good luck!
