HI all, i started to reclaim my bank charges from halifax about 18 months ago and i got the usual reply "we have to wait until the test case" etc,
i have moved house twice since i started to reclaim and have changed address with my bank but do i have to change address with a different dept regarding the charges as i dont have a number etc!!
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Credit cards are not subject to the OFT test case however I have answered your question on another thread.HI all, i started to reclaim my bank charges from halifax about 18 months ago and i got the usual reply "we have to wait until the test case" etc,

I wrote to HSBC back in April with the standard "i want a fully comprehensive list of charges" etc.
They didnt reply so i wrote again at the end of July.
I have now had a letter that says they cant find my account and because it was closed so long ago the record has probably been deleted.
They are asking if i have a statement from before 2005 and they can try to find me using a code that would be on the statement?!
I havent got anything at all!
I paid the credit card off at least 4 years ago and dont have any records at all to be able to trace it myself.
I have always had, and still do have, a HSBC current account, surely somewhere on their system will be a link to my (now closed) credit card?
Does anyone know what happens if they still cant find me?
I want to see how much i can claim back from them but obviously wont know until they find my details!!
Thanks
