Thanks ever so much barloo69. But what is RD? Sorry if its a dumb question. And is there a template I can use for this letter?
Thanks again.
No worries RD = Recorded Delivery. (this helps if the claim turns sour and goes legal, you then have legal proof that the letters were sent and thereofre they havent responded. As for the letter, something similar to ..........
Account number: **** Your ref: *****
Thank you for your recent letter confirming that you will be willing to make an offer of £***.** as a refund of my charges which have been unlawfully applied to my account.
However, I would like to point out to you, that the amount I am actually seeking is in fact £***.** and that this sum has been calculated in the same way a court would award which is the 8% added to each charge accumulatively and NOT as you have done, adding 8% as a total sum. (delete as applicable this bit)
I therefore gratefully accept your offer of £***.** without prejudice but request you resubmit your final settlement for the sum which I have stated instead.
I again have attached a full schedule of the charges with this document.
In view of this, I now look forward to receipt of your full and final settlement by way of a cheque sent to the address mentioned above within the next 14 days.
Yours sincerely,
................obviously tailored to your needs.
Keep us posted how you get on.
If you see a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck !!!!!!0 -
Hi, just logged on here as have just done my letters for Bank charges reclaiming. I keep reading about the credit card reclaiming - does this only apply if their charges are £35 or so. My late payments on my credit cards are £12 - is that now acceptable or can that be claimed back too?
Many thanks0 -

Thanks for the reply. I am just wondering but I have sent the 3rd letter threathening to court 27 July ( and that's before I received the £104 cheque) and I put in without prejudice will accept £250 but until now I haven't receive a response for that letter yet, so can I actually put on this letter I am going to send that because I haven't receive a response for my recent letter I am now seeking the whole ampount of £294.15 and not the £250. Just to point out to them I am not ignoring the fact that they ignored my recent letter.Or am I being too greedy and too cheeky:o

is anyone else struggling with Egg?? I find that they are completely incompetent every single time i deal with them!
they took 109 days to send me my list of charges.
lost my complaint letter 4 times and finally replied saying continued use of my account will be taken as acceptance that their charges are fair!!
i asked for £404 and they offered me £16!!!!
they are terrible!!!0 -

Have a look at the reclaim step by step guide. You will see that the decision is ultimately yours, to settle for the difference between the £35 and the £12 or go the whole hog and request they pay back all the charge.
I like many others on this thread has successfully reclaimed the full amount.
It is a simple and painless exercise thats involves the writing of a few letters.
If you get stuck at any point, post up & someone here will help.
Good luck.If you see a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck !!!!!!0 -

I have just experienced my first encounter with a Troll on another thread and up until then I had no idea what they were so I would thought I would post up to educate / warn those that also dont have a clue.
Notice to newcomers re trolls.
Hi Everyone,
Not sure if we have this thread over here but this thread is bumped up regulary on other board so that newcomers new & old are aware of the possibility of `troll` issues.
They `bump` it along regularly to keep it in peoples minds. Perhaps it would work over here?
Notice to newcomers re trolls.
Hi everybody.
Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.
What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.
If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.
what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?
firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.
The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!
It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis
PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.If you see a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck !!!!!!0 -
Hi, I am trying to reclaim charges from a goldfish account that I had until 2006. I have sent a recorded delivery letter, but never got a response. Can anybody give me the correct address to write to as I realise Goldfish doesn't exist anymore.
Also, I have had a number of credit cards which I have paid off over the years, but know that I had charges against them. How can I find out the account numbers so I can reclaim the charges.
Thanks for any help

How are credit card charges refunded to you if your account is no longer open? Do they forward you the refunds via a cheque?0
