Need adviceI have had a few credit cards in the past which are now closed accounts. I live at a different address from where they were registered. Can i still claim refunds for charges on those cards ?Thankyou to anyone that can help!!
Yes - I have moved from England to Northern Ireland and have successfully reclaimed some charges on cards that are closed. The only bank that made a fuss was Natwest and I just had to go into one of their branches when I was last over in England with ID.0 -
Barclaycard and Barclaycard Goldfish
Letters sent 18th May
Claims :
Barclaycard - Charges £708, Interest on charges £405.95 = £1113.95
Barclaycard Goldfish - Charges £676, Interest on charges = £436.44 = £1112.44
Both claims settled in full today!!!
No wriggling or squirming on their part and the interest I claimed was not the statutory 8% (although i did detail that as well in my claim) but my calculated estimate of the interest which I had paid them on the charges.
A good result
Thank you Martin and thanks to Natweststaffmember and Esmerelda for all their help
That is fantastic news, I have just had my PPI back but have just requested the list of charges from Barclaycard for my visa and mastercard accounts. Very heartening to see the speed of resonse you got! Thanks2013 Grocery Challenge £450 pm

:jWell done I havent heard anything yet but my claim wasnt aknowledged until the 27th may so a bit later than yours. did you recieve a form from the courts saying that Cap 1 were going to defend the claim, I did and i'm a bit worried about my husband going to court as I have taken care of all the steps to re-claiming as hes useless on the money side of things. Interestingly enough though I have a claim with cap 1 for around 1400 I went through all the stages got the usual response and as I was short of cash decided to go the FOS route that was 2 months ago and I havent heard a thing maybe should of gone court route.0

I have a personal loan with HFC for an electrical item and am in arrears. They sent me today the agreement I asked for and a statement. I owe £233.59 on an original loan of £318.55 but I now discover that the late payment fees are nearly £200.00. They phoned today and said they were sending me an offer of reduced full and final settlement. Question is can I recalim these charges??
Further to my above quote I received a letter from HFC offering me £75.00 refund which represents 100% reduction in the charges payable when the account was forwarded to their solicitor in December 2008. They also wrote last week offering full and final settlement for the figure of £116.00 which is was half of the outstanding figure as at 13.5.9.
When I sen the charges letter it came to £315.00 plus £30.21 interest so was more than I thought. The £75.00 they are offering is just the admin charge they added before transferring to their solicitors. How should I proceed??0 -
Is it worth trying to claim back insurance paid out each month on a credit card even though it is usually only pennies to a pound or 3?0

Yes lukedaz I too had a letter from the Court saying they were going to defend the claim in full (they do this by paying you !).
Good luck , I'm sure yours is on its way.Sing a song for Sala , we will never let you go .....0
