Credit Card Reclaiming Discussion

Bit of a long winded story but will try to keep it short...
Got a credit card with Lloyds tsb back in 2006.
Moved into a property with my ex and put his name on it too.
Both spent buying new stuff for flat.
Took his name off it so he could get a loan.
We broke up.
We agreed to pay half each.
I paid my half (paid it all in one go)
Then got a letter saying it had been handed over to debt colletion company as no payments had been paid onto the account for almost 6 months.
During this time I had lots of charges on the account.
Knew there was nothing I could do as his name was no longer on it (yes I learned my lesson!)
Started dealing with the colletion company.
Set up a payment plan which has been in place just over a year...
My point is
CAN I RECLAIM THESE CHARGES?

Hi Gemma
I do not see any reason why not. You can claim back charges on closed accounts as well.
Your account is still open, shouldnt matter at all that you have a payment plan set up for the debt.

Hi, just after some advice please. I have recieved a response from Lloyds after my 1st letter advising me that they will not pay what i was asking but would refund what they thought was fair ( i.e the difference between £35 and £12 charges). I have sent my 2nd letter telling them I want the full amount refunded but in the meantime I have recieved a cheque for the amount they offered. Do I cash this cheque or will that in effect be seen as me accepting their offer?? Or will they send another if they decide to pay up in full ?? Really unsure as to what to do, please help.0

Hello,
I have been encouraging my husband to reclaim his charges on the credit cards he had before we were married. in reading the guide it states to enclose a cheque for £10 to receive the fee totals/statements. I am unable to find where it says who to make the cheques out to...probably quite obvious but want to be able to spell it out clearly to him
would it just be who you would normally send payment to?
thank you kindly for your help!

Another long winded story but with try to keep it brief!
My husband sent letters reclaiming bank chages from Morgan Stanley. Today my mother-in-law has brought round 2 letters in her name with her address on from barclaycard discussing the complaint we made! She was confussed as she dosn't even have a credit card and thought it was a scam, but after going to barclays bank it turns out the letters are for my husband!
In the second letter they agree to pay the fees claimed for plus 8% interest! (funny they found any fees to pay as she dosn't even have a credit card!) and to send off bank details (again sounds a bit dodgy but letters have been verified by bank).
I was just wondering if I should write and complain about some kind of data protection issues? Or do we just take the money and not push our luck?!
My best win so far : trip to lapand:j:j:j0
