    Hi all,

Back from the hosp appointment, was in and out very quickly today, I have got fibriods (sp) in me womb, which is why my periods are so heavy, so they are going to whip them out in Dec, and fit a coil at the same time, which should cut the periods down :T

Amie, we had a bit of rain, not much though, it was pouring in Chichester, but stopped completely in Littlehampton

Crazychick, I always do my brisket in the SC, I don't wrap it in foil, just put it in with a couple of carrots and onions, pour in water up to a third of the meat and leave it, meat is very tender, once I have taken the meat out I make gravy in the slow cooker with the liquid, best gravy ever :p

catowen, I think you are just going to have to be honest with the mum, if she is decent she will understand x

Nelski, kitchen is looking fab, but we want a picture of the legs :D

Ellie, hope it goes well for you today, must be an emotional time xx

    Hugs to all

Well the Lentil Flan was NOT a success with DGS  but the apple roly poly was. He's watching trucks with DD on you tube. Rain here late this arv so no need to water the garden. We were given a big hamper early this evening from a lady who we lent scaffolding to while we were away to say thank you. It was the strangest hamper I've ever received. :D

This was some of it's contents 2 boxes meds, 2 pks sanitary pads, 3 boxes panadol, cat litter (we have no cat) 2 toilet cleaners, toilet paper, 5 deodrant, cous cous & various other interesting things. :D Maybe she's trying to tell me something. :rotfl:

    Hello all,

Had an awful day yesterday but glad I didn't post about it on yesterdays thread as today there seems to have been a break through - OH has decided that "he needs to get his head out of his !!!!!" - hopefully this mean he will start perking up soon :). Not going to count my chickens though, as he has a counselling appointment tomorrow which might make him sad again.

Anyway, today I am going to make mincemeat, big batch of chilli to freze (went and bought some Tesco Klip Fresh boxes last night - very fancy!. Do the ironing as well.
I might have to do a lakeland order after all that :)

    Have a good one

    Morning!
a bit late because I was at the surgery, spent 40 minutes waiting, then realised that the receptionist had not told the GP I was there.... great!

A month off work. shame I can't enjoy it. Still, the wheels are in motion now for another appointment with the RA specialist etc etc. Thankyou once again to those who PM'd me such good advice, I felt less helpless this time.

Decided to make a hair appt as it must be shorter now I can't put it up. it might even be time to start going grey... or at least lighter than mid-brown. oh, the power of positive thinking: I shall make decisions about the things I can control!

  • Happy Birthday Penquin83 and Ljm

Hope everyone is well this morning. Thanks to a terrible nights sleep I only woke up half an hour ago. Have a midwife's appointment at half one - she'll have a fit when she sees my notes!! OH will go to the supermarket to pick up some food and hopefully I'll get to pop into the yarn shop on the way home to get some more wool.

Am now 25 weeks pregnant, only 10 weeks until I'm most likely to give birth (very unlikely I'll have a 40 week pregnancy). Will be so lovely if I don't have him earlier, but I hope to at least get to 30 weeks. :)

    Morning all

<Hugs> and tissues to those with colds, <Hugs> to those who are feeling low.

Hester I think lots of people on here are reading your blog, but just aren't posting comments on the Blog. I certainly remember reading lots of comments on the Dialy about how great your Blog is. My DiL has a Blogger blog too, about the baby, because the families are all over the world. Many family members read it, but hardly anyone ever leaves a comment. Maybe the fact one has to register to comment puts people off.

PenPin I can appreciate why you are upset with your sister and the Postie, and I would recommend caution when dealing with it. It may be better for you to try and be neutral or supportive about it, rather than being against it. Then let it run its course.

It will either work, or it will fizzle out. If it works, then you'll need to come to terms with it anyway. If it doesn't, then you'll have nothing to worry about.

Being openly against it is not going to help. At best, it's just going to give your sister more stress - and you care about her too much to want to do that. At worst, it's going to make her more determined to make a go of it with this chap; love loves a bit of oppression.

If you're openly against it and it doesn't work, she won't be able to turn to you for support in case you say "I told you so".

Had trouble getting up this morning, was in a very deep sleep and having a series of very intense (not in a pleasant way!) dreams. Of course now I'm up and drinking my coffee, I can't remember any of them!

Raining heavily outside, so no gardening today. Good job I planted out the winter pansies yesterday really. Might see if DH fancies going to the pictures this afternoon.

Freezer is bursting, so DH is having Chicken Korai with HM pilau rice, and I'm having watercress soup. That gets rid of three things. Need to go shopping for veggies, I think I'll make tomorrow's bolognese today as it always tastes better after its had a day to stand. That'll be a pack of mince and a pack of beef out of the freezer too...although there will then be an extra portion going back in. I can't believe I just wrote that. I need to get out more.

Interesting article about knitting, sewing and home baking on WOman's Hour (BBCR4) earlier. Some people can be soooooo patronising. I was listening to another show last week (probably still Woman's Hour) when they were interviewing a Dutch woman who had just written a book about Dutch Women DOn't Get Depressed (or something like that). Now I've met many Dutch people through my job, and I have to say they are one of the most straightforward and honest "race" of people that I have ever met. The Dutch woman on the programme was very forthright about life in the Netherlands. The Dutch are very family orientated, and sometimes a woman (mother) who works is looked down upon. The co-interviewee was very sneering and kept making digs at her, and the co-interviewee really jumped on this point. But the same co-interviewee couldn't see that in this country we do exactly the same - except it's SAHM's who are looked down upon. Sometimes Woman's Hour is really annoying!

Anyway, need to get on and do something!

    Catchup laterxx

Nearly forgot, Peem it was you knitting the *monkey* wasn't it? May I ask where you got the pattern from as my DS2 would love one! (He's married with 2 kids incidentally:rotfl: )

churchmouse - the pattern is here http://www.sirdar.co.uk/Site/downloads.asp. It's free.:j It's really quick to do. We now have a multi coloured one gracing the living room . DS has claimed it and now DD wants one too. I don't normally like knitting toys ("Bertie the bus" is sitting incompleted after 3 years) but this was pretty straightforward.

Dannahaz - I heard the woman's hour article. I've actually go the book they were talking about and it is beautiful. I love knitting, baking etc, but I sort of agree with "the other woman" (sorry I can't remember her name , Kate someone) in that my life is nothing like this lovely book. Us knitters are coming out of the woodwork (not to say that we are weevils :-)) and I'm glad to see it.
