    Good Morning All

just a quick question before I read the thread - I have a joint of brisket for dinner today. I was planning a roast. But I was wandering if I could wrap this in foil, add a little water to the SC, and cook it on low for the day! Will it harm the meat, I mean will it end up like chewing leather, or should I expect it to melt!
Thanks - off to read the thread now!

Morning PENPEN~ I got the joke, its wasted on some people (Aussie?)
    PINK~ thanks hun x
    MIOLIERE~ glad you feel better.
MRSMIX~ hugs to you hope you feel better soon
THISIS IT, WHATATWIT, ESSEXGIRL ~ hello to you all!
CHALKY~ tried the navel thing, but my mind kept thinking how does this work. It must do though cos I dropped off after 5 mins. So, cheers big ears!!!:D
PENGUIN83 & LJM~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you both
HARDUP HESTER ~ hmm, can’t really help you with your question. Maybe you could enquire at Age Concern; they might be able to point you in the right direction.
REDRUBY~ hope the scan goes well.
AMIE399~ I don’t have kids so no Halloween party, but I plan on making LOADS of cakes etc for trick or treat. Last year I didn’t sit down for an hour with all the kids from the estate, and it cost me a fortune in sweets/choc.
PENPIN~ good news about the extra hours.
Well today I feel like complete !!!!. Me and OH are due to remortgage the house, but the thing is OH has changed jobs so doesn’t have wage slips etc and I’m on the sick so my moneys down and will drop further by Xmas. So now I’m panicking about what the mortgage man will say tomorrow night when he comes. I feel so useless, I’m wracking my brain to think of how I can bring money in, but with my back, and sciatica I struggle pottering around let alone work.
It came to a head last night with me crying like a baby, OH was a star and said not to worry (you’d think he would realise after 7 years I’m a natural at it) easier said than done. So today I look like I've been hit by Tyson, my eyes are sore and I feel so low.
I’m off to see Mum in a bit and then we are going to visit Dads grave, it’s the anniversary of his death on fri, but I need to get Mums digi box sorted so I’m going today instead of fri.
Could do without going feeling like this, but Mum will be disappointed and I don’t want to let her down. Plus i've made her a spicy fruit loaf so will take that when i go.
Right I apologise in advance for boring you all with the whinge of the year. I will hopefully feel better after. (Not promising though:p )
    Take care all

    Good morning everyone,

CONGRATULATIONS Heavenleigh with your pink bump!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL CELEBRATING TODAY

Well, a really bad nights sleep last night, found out yesterday that the new LO im hoping to get, has a dad who, how can i put this, isnt the type of bloke you want anywhere near you (drugs, violence, prison - you get my drift) and as a single mum whos job is looking after small children, im really concerned about the risk it could put us all in. Trouble is, the mum (who lives seperately from him) daughter is in my DDs class, so i dont want to make anything difficult - how do you tell someone you dont want to risk looking after their baby in case the dad turns up (and from what ive heard, he really is a bad job, and would not be good for him to be anywhere near my house!!!). Ive got until Thursday to think of what to do - i know i really need the money, but all our safety is more important.

I did have some good news yesterday tho - i think i mightve won a laptop!!!! Im waiting for someone to call me back today, so fingers crossed that i have won!!!

Today, once ive taken the children to school, i just have the one LO here, and we just need to pop out and get some milk, not sure what else we will do today, but i expect it will involve cars or trains!!!

Need to get the WM and BM on, so will go and do that now.
Hope everyone has a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Happy birthday to the birthday girls - penguin 83 I work for MOJ too (which bit are you in?) and we have loads of ushers and clerks who have retired from their proper jobs. money's rubbish Hester but pretty family friendly

Well here I am beds all stripped, throws taken off sofas, excitedly waiting for my new washing machine to arrive - bet you're all jealous of my everso exciting life. Exoh snoring in the spare room - he came over last night which caused his newish gf to have a sulk - might phone her and tell her I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole but I think it's the time he spends with his girls that she's jealous of.

Well apart from the washing I need to make soem bread, defrost the freezer, bring in the now wet washing that I left on the line overnight - oops - and do a biggish shop

    have a good day :)
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Morning all.

Aussie - Some people just like pigs. Don't see it myself, but each to their own. Beginning to think we should keep an eye on her though. Best check how many times she sneaks pigs into things - Getting them into the thread startup seems a tad obsessive.:D :rotfl:

Looks like I'm gonna be off sick again today. I'll phone in later. Hopefully this will be the last day of feeling truly rotten.

I'll get on with my christmas knitting while the kids are out at school. DH is off this afternoon to paint the kitchen. Getting ready for thursday when the kitchen and the fitter arrive (Not banking on the "fitter" being "fit" - I don't have Nelski's luck. )

Off to empty WM and crawl back to bed for an hour or two.

    hugs to all

    congrats to Heavenleigh
    Roz-v - have a hug
Mioliere - glad you're getting better
Mrs-mix - ugg doctors, hate them. Good luck though.
Amie - I love halloween parties - dookin' for apples, treacle scones, guising.
PenPin - good news about the extra time
Catowen - could you rub some of your luck off on me?
Stefjb - enjoy your new WM
Crazychik - aww a new baby, lovely.
Ellie - hug to you too. Take care of yourself. That's an order.

    Morning all

Crazychick - I do brisket in the SC all the time and it just melts in the mouth.

Catowen - Another win? Fantastic - hope you get it.

Heavenleigh - Congrats on the PINK bump - very broody now!

Ellie - Could you not speak to your Dr about your sciatica - if it's effecting your ability to work then surely you can get some sort of benifits to help....worth a thought?

Hugs to the rest of you - seems like it was another bad night for you insomniacs.

Well my cold has turned into full blown sinusitis so I know where the rest of you are coming from on that - felt dreadfull last night and nearly passed out when I blew my nose and my ear popped - didn't know whether to throw up or scream - wasn't nice......but no sooner had it cleared then it went again and I feel like I've got my head ina bucket of water when I talk.

Going to have an easy day and get some cards made - house has been swished and swiped, wm is on and beds have been aired and remade - going to drag my craft stuff into the living room and shove a dvd on whilst I get crafty.

Toad in the hole with roasties, roast parsnips and veg for tea - DH requested onion gravy too.

Hope you all have a great day.
