I see that a new Eversmart Energy android app has just appeared in Play Store. It does not seem to do much yet but looks promising.

AFAIK the Eversmart app is for those who are on paygo meters.

There seems to be 3 apps, one for prepay and the other two I tried don't seem to work.

I've just had a phone call from Eversmart asking me to get a smart meter - They are offering me a cash incentive now to go ahead and get one.

I have been saying all along that I want to wait for the rollout of SMETS2 meters, but they advised me that the ones they are fitting now SMETS1 are identical apart from the software and that these will be upgraded remotely via software update to SMETS2 in due course - Is this correct ???

Does anyone know what model of smart meter Eversmart are currently installing ?

AFAIK (based on a Government consultation document) they haven't even started testing Secure meters with the DCC yet.

The plan (hope?) is to start testing sometime in April will and hopefully they might get it all sorted out by October (that's their plan).

After that they've then got to enroll the millions of meters already out there, starting with those meters which are already working in smart mode.

Those that have been abandoned by suppliers who's customers have moved away will probably be at the back of the queue

So realistically although it should be possible for some existing meters to be enrolled with the DCC I suggest that for most people, especially those with Secure meters it aint gonna happen this side of Christmas.

Their current performance in implementing the roll out of smart meters and the DCC suggests that it's probably the 2020 Christmas or even later unless something really radical gets implemented.

I have received a refund after three weeks of leaving. I had overpaid by £346. I now have a 20month fixed deal with another supplier on the cheap! Let’s hope their service is better.
I do wonder how much my account would have accrued to had I still continued with Eversmart, before they would have advised me of my balance or even thought of returning it to me?

They don't send you a special letter or hold your hand. You can check when you send in your monthly meter readings.

You look at your on-line statement which gets updated every month and you can then see if you are in arrears or in credit. You can also download a PDF copy for your own records. In fact you can check all your previous statements as well. It does take a teensy weensy bit of effort on your part though

    What else do you expect.

This is the type of company you need to be proactive with. Without prompting I submit monthly meter reads. I know exactly how I stand and if the credit seems excessive then I ask them to reduce the dd.

They are cheap and to me one of the best around. I am leaving shortly only because of my fix rate finishing.

Same here - Unfortunately when my fixed rate finishes the next cheapest provider is around £300+ a year more expensive :(

Mine is increasing by about £250. However still within our energy budget so all is well.
